Last night Fox was up, with 1.9 million more viewers overnight, while ABC was down by 2.6 million passing below the 10 million viewers. That’s what happens when you replace Dancing With The Stars by According To Jim !
At 8.00 as said there was a little less competition, so American Idol was up by 2.7 million viewers reaching 24 million viewers, while NCIS was up to 900 000 viewers with 14.7 million viewers. Then it was According To Jim (two new episodes) around 4.5 million viewers, while Most Outrageous Moments on NBC (one new, one rerun) had 4.1 million viewers.

The new schedule for ABC is now official, and truth be told it looks very much like the old one, that that’s by design. As McPherson said, “We’re returning our dominant core group of shows from last fall. The few openings we had we’ve filled with the kind of quality programming viewers have come to expect from ABC, and we have a very strong bench.”
Full schedule, recap and reactions after the jump!

The upfronts are coming, as of course lots and lots of news floating in about what shows will be picked up, renewed or canceled. More news from almost every network coming in…
ABC
We know Eli Stone will be renewed for a second season, while Women’s Murder Club is gone. It also seems that, for some unexplainable reason, Miss/Guided is likely to be renewed for a second season. Don’t ask me, I have no idea.
Again, thanks to creator David E. Kelley, fans of Boston Legal will have another season. But the initial order is only for 13 episodes, and it might not go further than that; also, it will be with a significantly scaled down cast, and probably the last season.

You know it’s coming. For a while there was nothing on TV, because of the strike, and then some shows came back!
They didn’t all came back, and most of those - pretty much all of those - which did, unfortunately didn’t came back with many episodes, obviously. A few shows have already had the season finale (30 Rock, Scrubs…) and many many more are coming. Pretty much every show is ending its season this week or the next.
And here’s the full list of which shows you’ll have to say goodbye to this week :

Great news everyone : It should be confirmed soon (during the upfronts) that ABC has renewed the great Eli Stone for a second season !
As you probably know if you’ve read my reviews of the first season of Eli Stone, though it took a little while for the show to really find its tone, it never stopped improving episode after episode and by the end of the season Eli Stone had turned into one of the best new shows of the season. Therefore, I am thrilled that it will come back for a second season.
Sadly if you liked Women’s Murder Club, and as stated before, there was no way the two shows would both come back, the network made its choice and so ABC canceled Women’s Murder Club. And if you ask me, that was the right decision, no question.

Last night was pretty much the same as last week, except there were fewer people in front of their TVs, and with a special Dancing With The Stars ABC took the second place from CBS. Of course Fox is still a clear winner, even if Idol lost a few million viewers facing ABC’s special.
At 8.00 it was about 3 million viewers less watching Idol than last week, but of course the show is still the most-watched program of the night by a long shot. On CBS there were 800 000 less viewers than a week ago, which means that NCIS is still holding pretty strong given how ABC went up by 6.4 million viewers switching from According To Jim to a special of Dancing With The Stars.

* Rumors are that while still “on the bubble”, it is looking good for Reaper. Everyone is now invited to send, of course, socks, to The CW’s Dawn Ostroff. I’m personally not a fan of such campaign and I doubt it ever works. I mean, first let’s forget about that Jericho thing, shall we? Okay so when was the last time it worked ? My point being, Jericho was an exception, because it was then, because fans were plenty, and nuts, and because CBS screwed up and they knew it. But I’m all for bringing back Reaper for another season, I love the show, and after Supernatural it’s the best show on The CW !
* Okay, moving on… so, at 8.00 on CBS there’s a new NCIS
* While on The CW there’s a new Beauty And The Geek
* Then it’s finally 9.00, and on The CW is a new episode of… that’s right, Reaper !
* While on CBS there’s a new Shark, and that might be one of the last episodes of the show, so, enjoy it while you can, if you can.
* Finally at 10.00 on ABC there’s a new Women’s Murder Club
* While on NBC there’s a new Law & Order: SVU

The writers’ strike has had an impact on television and many shows. Yes, all main hits like CSI, Grey’s Anatomy or House are back and doing well, but they’re just not doing as well as they used to a few months ago, before that whole mess. It could be the weather, for some it could be the new time slots, but chances are the strike had a part to play in this, whether it just drove people away from TV, and allowed them to realize they didn’t actually miss that show they used to watch religiously and thought they couldn’t live without.
But according to The Hollywood Reporter’s James Hibberd, it might be a win for some shows, because since even the big hits don’t do as well as before, networks might be inclined to give second chances to more shows than they would have otherwise. So, is your favorite show on the list of the shows on the bubble likely to be renewed, or are you still screwed ?

American Idol was on last night, and as always that was enough to make Fox winner of the night, both in total viewers and on the demo. Fox was really ahead of everyone, and while CBS managed to averaged over 10 million viewers, Fox still had 7.6 million more viewers. Not to mention the demo, where ABC and CBS and NBC all together don’t even beat Fox and their 7.1 !
At 8.00 you know where 24.4 million people had their eyes on, while NCIS did about the same as last week, holding 14.6 million viewers and a 3.0 on the demo. Other than that, nothing really worth talking about…
