To Love & Die: Pilot

To Love & Die(Movie) Okay, so after looking into it some more, here’s what I found : this was originally intended to be a (2-hour) pilot episode when it was produced, and we’re talking about two years ago, back in 2006 (!). The 2-hour pilot was shot and USA must have liked it, as they ordered 12 episodes of the series in mid-2007. But apparently something went wrong on the way, as it went nowhere, no more episodes have been produced (as far as I know) and the whole thing just died.

But, instead of forgetting about it USA decided to burn it off last night, airing what they now refer to as a movie, since they won’t be any more of it — which is quite a certainty I’d say, given how it’s been over a year and everyone moved on, starting with Shiri Appleby – now on E.R. – or Tim Matheson. But you might still have watched this as a one-time thing, a movie indeed, and that wouldn’t have been a bad thing at all!

Series Premiere of To Love & Die on December 30

Shiri ApplebyA while back I mentioned new series in the work for USA, one of them being To Love & Die, starring Shiri Appleby.

The cable network had given a 12-episode order for the series, revolving around a fun-loving 30-something woman, Hildy (Shiri Appleby), with abandonment issues convinced that her dating problems would be resolved if only she were able to track down the father (Tim Matheson) she never knew. When she finally does, she finds out not only that the guy is actually a contract killer, but that she has a real knack for this unexpected line of work.

USA announced that the dramedy will come very soon, making its debut in form of a made-for-TV movie. I’m not exactly sure if this is a telefilm to launch the actual series later in 2009, or considered to be a two-hour pilot episode. Either way, it begins on Tuesday, December 30th at 8.00 – on USA of course.

The film stars Shiri Appleby, Tim Matheson, Frances Fisher and Ivan Sergei.

Fresh blood for E.R.

Shiri ApplebyFor its final season, NBC hit-drama E.R. is adding new blood to the show, welcoming four new interns to the show :

Shiri Appleby (previously seen in Six Degrees and soon to appear of NBC’s Fear Itself) and Julian Morris will play siblings Daria and Andrew Wade. Daria is a smart and eager to learn, while Andrew uses his looks, smarts and charm to get ahead.

Emily Rose (previously seen on Brothers & Sisters and Jericho) will play Tracy Martin, an ambitious intern who likes to control things, which often doesn’t go over well with her superiors.

Victor Rasuk will play Ryan Sanchez, a native New Yorker who’s a tad nervous and is often found on his cell phone, fielding questions from his wife.

Executive producer David Zabel said that “the new group of young characters — played by four charming and singular actors — adds a burst of fresh energy and a bunch of different personalities for us to play off of as we enter our 15th and final season. So while we will be reconnecting with the history of E.R., as well as telling the ongoing stories of our current regulars, we also will track the development of these new young doctors.

What’s to come on USA

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | July 16, 2007

Shiri ApplebySince we’re in the schedule announcements, let’s keep on that road with a little sneak peak at what’s to come on USA Network.

I’m not the biggest fan of USA shows, as you may know I don’t like Psych that much (even though it got better) and I think Burn Notice is quite bad (despite doing good). But at least they try, and despite not being that pleased with the new season The 4400, that’s a definitely good show.

So, what else can we expect from USA…
