In their latest issue, which can be picked up on newsstands now, TV Guide does something everybody loves to do : a top 10 list. This time they went ahead to list not the top10 best series, but the best pilots.
As with any such list, not everyone has the same taste and not everyone agrees on which pilots were the best ones. Plus, as always, we tend to favor recent ones because, well, they’re more recent. But even then, there are some serious misses on TV Guide selection, so I thought I would list a few names I feel should have been included on such a list, as well as inviting you to list which were, to you, the top 10 best pilots TV had to offer.

A new editor has been found for Smallville’s “Daily Planet”, reports TV Guide. And the newly addition to the cast is no other than Michael Cassidy, recently seen on the already finished teen show Hidden Palms, and that fans might remember from The O.C. as well.
Yes, this 20-something is apparently going to be the new editor of the big newspaper that is the “Daily Planet”. A few people are already guessing that the role might actually be tweaked, and not be the editor. Nothing’s for sure yet, but I wonder why people would find this so odd?
Sure, they originally were looking for a 30-something, which would make more sense. But actually, they wanted an “extremely hot” 30-something, and most likely the “extremely hot” part way more important than anything else.
And why would this be a problem? Remember people, this is Smallville we’re talking about here. The show were an pretty-much-still-teenager gets married to a young master of the world, head of the World’s biggest company (or close). A show where young people are everywhere, and played by actors ten years older!
So I really don’t see the problem. Anyhow, Cassidy will most likely appear in the second episode of the new season and be around in at least six episodes, where he will probably be Lois latest love interest.
At least in six episodes, because if fans react well to his character he might stick around for a bit longer…
