This Week On TV

PsychOne big week coming up - well, considering how slow things have been lately that is - with the premiere of HBO’s miniseries Generation Kill tonight at 9.00, the return of TNT’s The Closer & Saving Grace on Monday, a new series, The Cleaner, on A&E on Tuesday, and of course the season premiere of summer hit-comedy Psych on USA !! (And also, before it, Monk)

Generation Kill is a seven-parts miniseries based on Evan Wright’s book of the same name about his experiences as an embedded reporter with the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the Iraq war’s first phase in 2003. Wright worked on a consultant on the show.

The Cleaner is a new series inspired by the true story of a real-life “extreme interventionist”. The show stars Benjamin Bratt (Law & Order) as William “The Cleaner” Banks, who, after hitting rock-bottom from his own addictions after the birth of his daughter, has now gathered an unconventional team with whom he helps people get away from their addictions by any means necessary.

There should be enough to please everyone, as for myself I can’t wait for Friday and a new episode of Psych ! Of course in the mean time, we got plenty to chew :

This Week On TV

Burn NoticeTime to head into one week, and since we’re now in July we can already see some new additions as well ! Nothing that really gets me excited so far, but I’m sure many of you will be excited over the return of what was described as “a summer show, there’s nothing else on, it’s got action and there are some pretty hot women on the show by star Jeffrey Donovan himself.

That’s right, while there won’t be no new episode of Fear Itself this Thursday on NBC, it’s not a problem because all you have to do is switch to USA to see the season premiere of Burn Notice !

What will you be watching this summer ??

WeedsNow that the season is (almost) over, we can start focusing on what to watch this summer. Summer is a time we usually move away from the big four, as they are pretty much filled with nothing but reruns, games, and more reruns. As such, we look more into the ones who keep being creative and providing us with great, exciting content, the cable networks.

Of course, there isn’t always something good, and with the still on-going effects of the recent writers’ strike, well, a few series you might be waiting for won’t be coming back (so soon).

During summer I usually watch The 4400, but USA canceled it so we won’t get any actual closure on that story. And as I said, some series will be returning later than usual, for instance there won’t be no Entourage until September, and I think we might have to wait until 2009 for the new season of FX great hit, Damages. Same goes for Rescue Me, although FX will produce minisodes of Rescue Me this summer.
