Fox’s plans for 2009 have now made public, and there are two things that are really worth nothing, two changes that took place compared to the original plans the Network had, two changes actually quite linked to each other : Originally, Bones was set to move on Fridays.
No really, it was, those idiots at Fox keep moving it around and treat the show like it wasn’t the little awesome thing it is, pulling 10 million viewers each week. And maybe that’s why they change their minds, when realizing that even without House near-by, the show was still a hit. That’s for the good news, now the bad news comes from who’s taking over that infamous death slot.
No other than Joss Whedon’s latest sci-fi creation, Dollhouse, is set to air on Fridays, premiering Friday, January 13th. No really. I’ll give you a minute to scream away as those horrible flashbacks and memories of Firefly come to mind…

One of the new series on Fox is in trouble. Sit Down, Shut Up! is a new animated series, based on an Australian series, coming up on Fox next season. Or that was the plan, before 14 WGA writers, showrunner Mitch Hurwitz first in line, walked out.
Apparently the story goes as follows : Sony, co-producing the show with 20th Century Fox, had been telling the writers from day one that their contracts would be covered by the WGA, which made sense since all the Fox TV animated shows now being broadcast on that network are covered under the WGA contract. Naturally writers assumed their contracts would be over the jurisdiction of the WGA, something done in the past for a Sony-produced show (Dilbert) which was also confirmed to them by Sony execs repeatedly.
Only, turned out they were lying !! The show’s maker is Sony Adelaide, and they have a deal with IATSE. And only recently did Sony finally admitted to writers that the show was to be covered by IATSE, leaving everyone pretty pissed, starring with showrunner Mitch Hurwitz (of Arrested Development fame) as well as The Simpsons writers-producers Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein.

Shows: Sit Down Shut Up
By fred | May 15, 2008
The new schedule for Fox is now official, and there’s not much to say : canceling everything new but Terminator, their additions are for the most part the two most-awaited (sci-fi) series of the season, JJ Abrams’ Fringe, and Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse - the later being reserved for mid-season.
Being Fox, they don’t really care about the shows or giving an opportunity for viewers to easily remember when they are or create some nice pairs, shows keep moving all over the place between fall and winter schedule, and I’m not sure there’s really any logic there.
Full schedule, recap and reactions after the jump!

The upfronts are coming, as of course lots and lots of news floating in about what shows will be picked up, renewed or canceled. More news from almost every network coming in…
ABC
We know Eli Stone will be renewed for a second season, while Women’s Murder Club is gone. It also seems that, for some unexplainable reason, Miss/Guided is likely to be renewed for a second season. Don’t ask me, I have no idea.
Again, thanks to creator David E. Kelley, fans of Boston Legal will have another season. But the initial order is only for 13 episodes, and it might not go further than that; also, it will be with a significantly scaled down cast, and probably the last season.
