(S02E13) Alright so I’m calling this a season finale even though the show has been canceled by The CW already, just because the studio is trying to keep it alive and maybe have it found its way to The CW affiliates or something. I would say the odds aren’t really in favor of our show, and unfortunately it will probably be made official in a few days that this was the series finale after all, but for now let’s pretend, let’s hope…
Another reason I decided to call it a season finale is because I don’t want to say bad stuff about this episode, and while the episode in itself – and taken out of all this renewal considerations – was a pretty good and funny one, as a series finale it would be one Hell of a let down, let’s be honest.

(S02E12) At this moment the fate of the show is still uncertain, officially that is, but the show is pretty much dead. Which means that, unless a miracle occurs, next week will be the season finale, putting an end to the great adventures of Sam and his buddies trying to be smarter than the Devil. I’m not sure if the writers/producers of the show worked out something that could be a series finale, and provide a somewhat satisfying conclusion to the series or not at all, but let’s hope so.
Either way it was always an end, at least of the season, and something needed to happen. Now watching this episode, I’m starting to wonder if I might have things wrong, or if Sam and his friends are all just that.., well, stupid. I mean it’s not the first time they want to beat the Devil at his own game, and Sam has been around the guy for a while now, so he should know better.

(S02E11) On this show, some things do evolve and others just stay the same, or find a way to quickly go back to normal. Take the workbench for instance, Ted got fired and Andy took over, and that could have been an idea to use to get her something to do, something else than breaking up with Sam every other episode. But soon enough she was demoted and back to square one, and of course they brought Ted back as manager.
Which, actually and given the whole sexual harassment issue and why he got demoted to begin with, is clearly an odd choice (don’t tell me there isn’t another employee that could have promoted). So now we’re back to where we once were, and I’m not sure it’s such a good thing, especially when that place wasn’t too good hence why the changes to begin with.

(S02E10) Only three more episodes to go this season, and unfortunately odds are that this will be the last season of the show, ratings not being all that well, plus not really the demo The CW is looking after. It’s a real shame, because the show is really good, but when did that ever mattered?
This episode proved once again that the old formula of the escaped soul of the week is long gone, the show has evolved into something completely different, and much like last year, after a few somewhat regular cases we’re now on to something much different, something bigger. For a while this season, it looked like writers had a plan and were going somewhere with the the different plot introduced, but I have to admit that now, I’m not so sure.

(S02E09) This season of Reaper has been pretty awesome so far, and it had and continues to evolve and goes into direction one might not expect. Also, the old formula of the escaped soul of the week hasn’t been around much, they always found a way not to commit to it, so much that by now you almost expect Sam not to have to chase a soul, or just not to do it for some reason.
Instead we have some other stories to focus on, stories about personal relationships, which may or may not include demons, as well as the ongoing idea Sam has been obsessing about (although not too much) : he wants out, he needs to find a way out of his deal with the Devil. He doesn’t know how, but he’s learned for sure that it was doable, and he won’t stop until he succeeds — well, you know, or dies/gets sent to Hell.
