(S01E18) In case you haven’t heard, The CW announced a bunch of renewal recently, some you can’t argue with (Supernatural), some you wonder why (Smallville), and others that just can’t be explained (90210). But there were a few shows that were missing, and if there’s no reason to panic when it comes to Reaper - given how the second season hasn’t yet premiered (that would be next week) – things aren’t the same for Privileged, officially “on the bubble.”
So this was at least the season finale, and at worst the series finale of this great new little show, which despite all its goodness kept struggling in the ratings all along. Here’s to hoping that it will get renewed for a second season though, because the show’s a lot of fun and it would be missed, not to mention that – as if often the case in such uncertain situation – we didn’t get an ending.

(S01E17) This was the seventeenth episode of the series, which isn’t usually a number that means anything. But this one time, for Privileged, it does. It does because The CW only ordered a total of 18 episodes, in other words next episode is already nothing less than the season finale. And, given that the show hasn’t been performed that well in ratings and how The CW are looking for crap such as a revival of Melrose Place - excuse me while I puke a little – it might also turn out that next episode is also the series finale.
I certainly hope not because there’s way too many things that we need to see, things that have to happen and for which one 42-minute episode won’t be enough. Plus, this show is actually one really good show, one of the best The CW has, and it deserves a second season – not that, sadly, it ever means anything.

(S01E16) Before talking about what actually happened during this episode, I just feel the need to mention something on a more global scale. Looking back at how the show originally was and how it has evolved, there’s no question that it’s gotten better. But looking at the big pictures now, there also seem to something else going, and that’s that the show lost itself along the way.
Because the idea was that Megan was a wannabe writer who needed a paycheck and some experience, hence her getting a job taking care of the girls. But now, the show is pretty much cut in half : on one side we have Megan and her problems, with her family or her love life, and on the other side we have the girls, living their lives on their own.

(S01E15) Here’s something you might already know, but after this episode we only have three more left, three more episodes and the show would have completed its 18-episode order, and so far it doesn’t seem like there will be a renewal for a second season. Not to say all hope is lost and that will never happen, after the order for 5 additional episodes and the move on Monday nights were signs people liked the show and wanted it to work.
But the problem might come from the fact that, ratings-wise, it doesn’t really. Even after getting the post-Gossip Girl boost, the show fails to perform well and with such low ratings a second season seems very uncertain. One would hope that after believing in Gossip Girl during its first season and seeing its second one do better in ratings, The CW might want to try and do the same with this show, but nothing’s more uncertain.

(S01E14) It might be the most buzzed about show out there, not even as new series on The CW, and it’s a bit depressing to see than stupid remakes of 90210 gets more press than Privileged, because this one is the little gem that more people should be watching. It really is a great show, and once again as I was watching this episode and simply having a good time, I couldn’t help but feel a little sad that, despite being the best new series on The CW this season, it wasn’t guaranteed to come back for another one.
I surely hope the the people in charge get it right and renew Privileged for a second season, because it certainly has earned it. This episode was once again a delight, filled with everything you love from this show and more. Once again a lot of people and stories going on all along, so let’s cut it down to work our way through it all.
