NumbersAs usual only one network could get over 10 million viewers last night (11.28 million viewers for CBS) while others couldn’t reach 8 million (second being ABC with only 7.44 million) Still Fox managed to do well on the demo, thanks to an always strong Bones. But about everything was down…

Bones was down about 1 million viewers last night (9.76 million vs 10.73 million viewers one week ago) but remained strong (and with a second half-hour gaining viewers, always a good sign) and won the slot, both in total viewers and on the demo. That was for the good, the bad was on ABC where a new Pushing Daisies really didn’t perform well, hitting a new series low with only 4.45 million viewers and a 1.2 on the demo !

Life On Mars, Private Practice & Scrubs return dates; Crusoe not good enough for Fridays; Lipstick Jungle to end earlier…

ScrubsABC has yet to announce its midseason schedule, but we already know a few things.

* Lost season 5 is premiering on Wednesday, January 21st with a two-hour special, and starting January 28th it will lead into Life On Mars. Despite not being a hit in the ratings, ABC seems to like the new drama, and has ordered four more episodes, thus bringing the total order to 17 episodes, and since the show is done for the year it means it will be able to be on for at least 10 weeks.

* Scrubs is finally moving to the Alphabet, premiering on Tuesday, January 6th at 9.00 with two episodes back to back, something that will be repeated the following week with two more episodes from 9.00 to 10.00, after which the show will settle in its 9.00 slot. No word yet on what will be at 9.30 though the new Mike Judge animated comedy, The Goode Family, has been rumored.

Wednesday’s Numbers [11.19.2008]

NumbersA night all for CBS last night, this making it quite depressing for all TVoholics out there I would imagine. Not everything was bad, for instance Bones continues to do very well, clear winner of the slot with 10.73 million viewers and a 3.1 on the demo. Meanwhile the CBS comedies are doing rather well as well, New Adventures Of Old Christine with 8.09 million viewers and a 2.5 on the demo - a new season high - leading in a new series high for Gary Unmarried, doing even better with 8.14 million viewers and a 2.7 on the demo.

As for the news we were all waiting for, it looks really bad. Pushing Daisies might have had one of its best episode to date, it was also an awful series low with not even 5 million viewers !! Only 4.86 million and a 1.8 on the demo, all signs that indicates the show won’t be picked up unfortunately. Knight Rider on NBC managed to somehow get more viewers (5.12 million, series low) but was unsurprisingly beaten on the demo (1.5 vs 1.8) where it came last.

NumbersLast night was a good night for Fox, because with nothing but - finally - a new episode of Bones, and a rerun of House, the network won the demo ! All that with only 8.41 million viewers, while both ABC and CBS went over 10 million viewers - with 10.48 million and 10.85 million respectively.

At 8.00 after a long while, Bones was finally back, and the special Dancing With The Stars didn’t hurt the show one bit : Bones had one of the best performances of the season with 10.09 million viewers, and a 3.3 on the demo (winner of the slot). Meanwhile on CBS the comedies were down, A million less viewers for New Adventures Of Old Christine (6.57 million) and 1.5 million less for Gary Unmarried (6.44 million). Gary still grew on the demo though, with a 2.1 (vs 1.9 for its lead-in.)

Wednesday’s Numbers [10.29.2008]

NumbersLast night was the famous night with Barack Obama’s Paid Political Message on the air for half an hour on a few networks, including three of the big four, as ABC kept its usual lineup. It was a success evidently, as over 27 million viewers did watch Obama. Most of them did so on NBC, who could enjoy something that could get almost 10 million viewers and a 3.0 on the demo — surely Knight Rider isn’t gonna do any such thing.

But if Obama was the least watched on Fox, the net has all the reason to be happy nonetheless, as they won the night easily thanks to the World Series, with 14.49 million viewers overnight and a 4.7 on the demo.

Wednesday’s Numbers [10.22.2008]

NumbersFox won the night quite easily thanks to the World Series, with 13.52 million viewers and a 4.3 on the demo. Still, CBS managed to resist pretty well, and had the most-watched program of the night with no other than Criminal Minds.

At 8.00 New Adventures Of Old Christine did very well with a season high at 8.01 million viewers and 2.4 on the demo. Out of that came what turns out to be a good fit, as Gary Unmarried has a series high with 7.85 million viewers and a 2.5 on the demo, beating its lead-in!

Sadly for the world, on NBC were still 7.23 million viewers for Knight Rider. At least it’s going down, but with such results (and a 2.2 on the demo) and the money they get for the cars, no question that NBC will leave this crap on the air for long… *sigh*
