ABC Schedule for 2009

The new schedule for ABC is now official, and truth be told it looks very much like the old one, that that’s by design. As McPherson said, “We’re returning our dominant core group of shows from last fall. The few openings we had we’ve filled with the kind of quality programming viewers have come to expect from ABC, and we have a very strong bench.

Full schedule, recap and reactions after the jump!

Monday’s Numbers

After a little weakness last week, Prison Break is back to its usual score, which ain’t that good but that’s the lame season 3 we’re talking about, so 7.9 million viewers us still pretty impressive if you ask me. Meanwhile on CBS the second episode of Welcome To The Captain showed first signs of weakness already, since the show wasn’t even able to keep all viewers from its lead-in, a rerun of How I Met Your Mother (7.2 million) and lost one million viewers since its pilot last week, down at 7.1 million viewers.

At 9.00 Terminator lost about 600 000 viewers since last week, but is still holding over 8 million viewers (8.3 million), doing good in the 18-49 demo (3.5) and growing over its lead-in, so it’s not bad. On CBS at 9.30 came a new episode of New Adventures Of Old Christine, and it was a success with 600 000 more viewers since last week (9.9 million viewers).

Tonight On TV

* Big night tonight, although it’s not that big if you only count either what I personally watch, or what’s good.

* At 8.00 there’s a new Prison Break on Fox. It’s not good, but I watch it. Yes, I’m ashamed, in the mean time last week I think Michael & co finally escaped, for real, so unless they get caught back within the first 10 seconds of this episode, that might be interesting. Or completely lame. We’ll see…

* At 8.30 on CBS comes a new Welcome To The Captain, but the first episode was so unfunny I really don’t think this show will last long.

* At 9.00 we have finally something good, no really : Terminator: Once Upon A Time A Show Had A Name Way Too Long For Its Own Good. Despite that, it’s a good show, real fun to watch.

* Lots of stuff at 9.30 : Notes From The Underbelly on ABC, New Adventures Of Old Christine on CBS, and In Treatment on HBO. Just pick one. Or not. You decide.

* Finally at 10.00 there’s a new October Road on ABC. A show that wasn’t on the list of renewed shows ABC released earlier, did that surprise anyone?

Monday’s Numbers

This Monday and helped with their shitload of crap NBC won the night, while CBS - despite having lots of reruns - was able to beat Fox, helped with an always strong Two And A Half Men, even in repeat.

At 8.00 NBC came first, with 10.1 million viewers for American Gladiators, then ABC and 10 million for their Dance War. After that was the latest Prison Break, doing a little less good than last week (7.8 million) but still its average this season.

Now, what we all care about : Terminator. Well, it lost almost one million and a half viewers over last week, but still grew by close to a million viewers over its lead-in, so with 8.7 million viewers it did good. Not great nor really good, not as good as 24, usually on that slot, but good nonetheless.

Tonight On TV

* Mondays might not be what they used to be a while back, but they still have some things to offer. For now.

* Ok, so.. yeah. I admit, I’m watching Prison Break again. Damn it! I said I wouldn’t do it, not after their two-hours special, which was really really bad, but I’m such a TVoholic I couldn’t help myself, I had to tune in last week, and now I’m giving the show another last chance. But this time I’m serious: if Michael doesn’t get out of Sona tomorrow, I’m done with the show, I won’t watch it no more. No really, I mean it!

(Besides, it’s not like there’s anything worth watching elsewhere. Would there be no strike, and How I Met Your Mother on CBS, I would be watcing CBS, no question.)

* At 9.00 comes the show of the Monday : Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Unlike its lead-in, for that one I can’t wait!

* That’s about all for me, but there are still more new episodes, as you can see above : ABC has a new Notes From The Underbelly at 9.30 followed by a new October Road; while a new episode of Medium airs at 10.00 on NBC

Monday’s Numbers

This is really depressing. So I guess most people do not care about quality, nor do they really want their shows back on… There were five million more people watched the stupid Deal Or No Deal than watching Fox’s new hit show Terminator ! NBC’s game even came first on the 18-49 demo as well (5.0 vs 4.3)

Last night I said I was hoping for 12 million viewers for Terminator, and it didn’t get them. It “only” did 10.1 million, but it’s not that bad. For sure it’s an improvement over K-Ville, and it build on its lead-in, Prison Break, which did close to 8 million, making it a success. It is depressing to me, though, to think that there were more people watching a rerun of Two And A Half Men (11.5 million), than there were watching Terminator.

Tonight On TV

* At 8.00 is the return of Prison Break on Fox. Does anyone still cares for Michael and his brother at this point ? Cause really, this show could have return returned and I wouldn’t have cared, or even noticed…

* At 9.00, the machines are back, and the fight continues : Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles returns for a second episode, be sure not to miss it !

* Also at 9.30 on ABC comes a new Notes From The Underbelly

* And at 10.00 you have a new October Road on ABC, which will probably not do good, but that seems to be expected from the show; a new episode of Medium on NBC; and on CBS a new one of the CSI franchise, CSI: Miami, says goodbye with its last completed episode…

To sum up: Watch Fox at 9.00 for a new dose of Terminator !
