Tonight On TV

* Don’t even think of tuning in to CBS, it’s rerun night for The Eye. So here’s a good idea for the millions of viewers left without their comedies : tune in to Fox instead! Because Terminator is surely one of the best shows you’re not watching right now!

* At 8.00 Fox has a new episode of the great Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

* While on NBC there are still laughs in a new Chuck

* And The CW has finally a new episode of Gossip Girl

* At 9.00 on Fox there’s some kind of “mid-season premiere” for Prison Break, with a brand new journey to start, or something

* NBC has a new episode of Heroes

* And on The CW there’s a new episode of a great show that needs (and deserves) your help and eyes, Privileged

* And finally on ABC there’s a new Samantha Who?

* Followed at 9.30 by another episode of the same Samantha Who?

* At 10.00 on ABC there’s a new Boston Legal

* While on NBC there’s a new My Own Worst Enemy

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 25, 2008

NumbersAs always on Mondays, ABC was the winner of the night in total viewers while CBS took the demo. As for the others? Well, they try to survive… You can be sure Fox is dying for its ‘09 lineup packing House and 24 together to come to life!

At 8.00 CBS started off more than very well, both The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother getting more than 10 million viewers ! The former opened with a new series high at 10.19 million viewers and 3.9 on the demo, while the later had a new season high with 10.04 million and a nice 4.3 on the demo !

Monday’s Numbers [11.17.2008]

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 18, 2008

NumbersCBS comedy night is definitely doing wonders, there’s no question there. While it had a little less viewers than a week ago (-300 000) for its series high, The Big Bang Theory still did very well with 9.70 million viewers and 3.7 on the demo. And that led into a new high for How I Met Your Mother and 9.84 million viewers, and an excellent 4.3 on the demo.

Last week it was a tie, and this week - while and having almost 9.5 million less viewers - How I Met Your Mother beat Dancing With The Stars on the demo. Clearly things are doing well for CBS. On NBC it might not look it, but it was good news as well. Chuck had half a million more viewers than last week, and a new season high with 6.80 million viewers and 2.6 on the demo.

Ben Silverman to get a raise for its failures

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 17, 2008

Ben SilvermanAnyone still wondering why NBC is in the toilet ?

This is either quite funny, or sad depressingly sad and pathetic, depending on how you decide to look at things. According to Page Six, NBC Entertainment co-chair Ben Silverman will not only not be blamed for the Peacock’s lackluster fall schedule, but he is putting all the blame on someone else - Universal Media Studio President Katherine Pope - and that works so well that while she might get fired or something, Silverman could get a raise !!

Just how mind-blowing is that ?? The guy is a moron who should get fired for its poor work, because the network’s failing schedule is all on him, but instead he is apparently still praised, as one network insider told Page Six that “the company is very happy with Ben. He is deep in negotiations to re-up his contract with NBC, and he has the network up 50 percent profit from year to year.

Just shoot me now.

NBC cancels Lipstick Jungle and My Own Worst Enemy; The CW wants more Privileged

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 13, 2008

Privileged* ..and so do I! Good news for every fans of The CW’s best new series of the season, Privileged. It might not be a full season pick-up, but it’s been reported that The CW ordered five additional episodes of the show. And not only that, but in order to try and give a little boost to the show, two episodes will have the privileged to air in the coveted timeslot that is Mondays at 9.00 right after Gossip Girl.

On December 1st and December 8th new episodes of Privileged will have their original airing on Monday at 9.00 after Gossip Girl (where reruns of One Tree Hill where originally scheduled), and will be reruned on the show’s official slot, Tuesdays at 9.00

Clearly a vote of confidence from the net, who believes - rightly so - that the show has potential to grow. And it does, week after week it’s been great and getting better, and I sure hope The CW will have faith in the show just like they did Gossip Girl in its first season… it paid off then, I’m sure it will now.

Monday’s Numbers [11.10.2008]

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 11, 2008

NumbersAfter Mondays with special programs due to elections or baseball, last night was finally a regular Monday, something we haven’t seen in three weeks. And in the end, results are pretty much the same for CBS and ABC, but both NBC and Fox are going down.

At 8.00 the CBS comedies prove once again how strong they are, The Big Bang Theory scoring a new series high and reaching 10 million viewers (10.01 million) for the first time ! In fact, during that first half-hour the comedy was also the number one show on the demo, as Dancing With The Stars only pulled a 3.8 by then. That led into How I Met Your Mother also doing very well, a little lower in viewers (9.71 million) but stronger on the demo (4.1)

The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards Nominees

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 10, 2008

People Choice AwardThe 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards Nominees have been announced, and for the most part there’s really not much to say, except that sometimes it feels even more wrong than the Emmys, which is saying a lot considering. Favorite dramas only include the major hits (CSI, Grey’s Anatomy, House) completely missing even the fantastic Lost and its mind-blowing season, not nominated at all.

Just like for comedies are missing the most hilarious sitcoms on the air — that’s right, no mention of 30 Rock, The Office or How I Met Your Mother ! How is that even possible ??
