NumbersSo what happened on Friday? Well, the usual : CBS found out the key to Friday’s success, reruns, while other network struggle and NBC continues to sink and sink and sink…

CBS opened with Ghost Whisperer, still strong though slightly down, with 11.36 million viewers and a 2.7 on the demo. That led into a rerun of The Mentalist, which proved to be just as good if not better as reruns of NCIS : most watched program of the night with 11.62 million viewers (2.4 on the demo) A strong lead-in for Numb3rs, back to a new high with 11.23 million viewers and a 2.5 on the demo.

Life On Mars, Private Practice & Scrubs return dates; Crusoe not good enough for Fridays; Lipstick Jungle to end earlier…

ScrubsABC has yet to announce its midseason schedule, but we already know a few things.

* Lost season 5 is premiering on Wednesday, January 21st with a two-hour special, and starting January 28th it will lead into Life On Mars. Despite not being a hit in the ratings, ABC seems to like the new drama, and has ordered four more episodes, thus bringing the total order to 17 episodes, and since the show is done for the year it means it will be able to be on for at least 10 weeks.

* Scrubs is finally moving to the Alphabet, premiering on Tuesday, January 6th at 9.00 with two episodes back to back, something that will be repeated the following week with two more episodes from 9.00 to 10.00, after which the show will settle in its 9.00 slot. No word yet on what will be at 9.30 though the new Mike Judge animated comedy, The Goode Family, has been rumored.

Lipstick Jungle might not be canceled after all !

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 18, 2008

Lipstick JungleAlongside My Own Worst Enemy, reports have been out about Lipstick Jungle being canceled as well. But now, it seems that said cancellation didn’t really happen, or could be undone, or something. It’s not really clear.

Brooke Shields recently told US Weekly that Lipstick Jungle was not canceled, “They thought that because My Own Worst Enemy has been shut down that the same thing had happened to us, and it’s not true … they’re not breaking down the sets. We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it’s erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God.

Now, it’s just silly to think people just assumed it was canceled because another show was, and while they might still be working that’s only because they’re wrapping up production of episode 13, last-ordered episode, as NBC is planning on airing all the remaining episodes.

Friday’s Numbers [11.14.2008]

NumbersLast night was your typical Friday night, with only notable to fact that instead of a rerun of NCIS it was a special Price Is Right at 9.00 on The Eye, and that wasn’t a success. Also, if Ghost Whisperer is string on its own, Numb3rs can use a solid lead-in…

At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer had a new season high with 11.67 million viewers and a 2.9 on the demo !! Pretty great performance, to bad it got wasted to lead into Price Is Right Salutes The Troops which merely retained 7.31 million viewers, and 1.7 on the demo. Although at 9.00 that was the best performance on the demo…

NBC cancels Lipstick Jungle and My Own Worst Enemy; The CW wants more Privileged

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 13, 2008

Privileged* ..and so do I! Good news for every fans of The CW’s best new series of the season, Privileged. It might not be a full season pick-up, but it’s been reported that The CW ordered five additional episodes of the show. And not only that, but in order to try and give a little boost to the show, two episodes will have the privileged to air in the coveted timeslot that is Mondays at 9.00 right after Gossip Girl.

On December 1st and December 8th new episodes of Privileged will have their original airing on Monday at 9.00 after Gossip Girl (where reruns of One Tree Hill where originally scheduled), and will be reruned on the show’s official slot, Tuesdays at 9.00

Clearly a vote of confidence from the net, who believes - rightly so - that the show has potential to grow. And it does, week after week it’s been great and getting better, and I sure hope The CW will have faith in the show just like they did Gossip Girl in its first season… it paid off then, I’m sure it will now.

Friday’s Numbers [11.07.2008]

NumbersSeems CBS finally found what they could air on Fridays at 9.00 : a rerun of NCIS! One again The Eye won the night, as each of its program average above 11 million viewers and above 2.5 on the demo, while on other networks the best was 8.19 million viewers and 2.2 for 20/20 on ABC at 10.00 — the only program not on CBS to reach 2.0 on the demo.

At 8.00 the night started well for CBS with a season high for Ghost Whisperer with 11.05 million viewers and 2.8 on the demo, leading into a rerun of NCIS once again most-watched program of the night with 11.26 million viewers, though the demo went down to a 2.4 At 10.00 Numb3rs had slightly less viewers (11.21 million) but still got its new season high, and was up on the demo with a 2.6

Friday’s Numbers [10.31.2008]

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 2, 2008

NumbersFridays are always considered to be a dead night on TV, but that’s only true when you don’t air the right rerun. Yes, as unbelievable as it may sound, CBS won the night very easily thanks to the most-watched program of the night, a rerun of NCIS, with almost twice as many viewers as the last episode of The Ex List.

Ghost Whisperer had 9.41 million viewers and 2.2 on the demo, about 400 000 viewers less than a week ago. But of course the rerun of NCIS at 9.00 was a game-changer, with 11.21 million viewers and 2.3 on the demo. It was the most-watched program of the night, and a nice boost for Numb3rs, with 1.5 million more viewers and a good retention : with 10.62 million viewers and 2.3 on the demo it was a new season high for the show.
