(S01E12) It’s been dragged on for the entire course of this season, so it had to end now. For the season finale of In Plain Sight, we kept focusing on Brandi’s whole mess as she came to live with her US Marshall sister Mary with a huge pile of drugs, no less. It’s been there the entire season, she has occasions to leave that behind her, she even went ahead and dropped it somewhere, only to go get it back and do as her stupid boyfriend was telling her.
She really had it coming, so it would be only fair she has to pay the price of her stupidity. But, as we’ve seen in last week’s first part of this whole story, it all fell down on Mary’s shoulders, as she was (mistakenly) kidnapped, threatened, came close to be shot and almost got raped. All of that after being yelled at and insulted out of nowhere by her atrocious mother for no apparent reason, other than to be mean. So, not a good day.

Shows: In Plain Sight
In Series: In Plain Sight Season 1
By fred | August 17, 2008

* At 9.00 we have the sixth episode of HBO miniseries Generation Kill
* While USA has a new Law & Order: Criminal Intent
* Then, at 10.00, it’s time to say goodbye to Mary & her Marshall, but not before one last episode to get her sister in WITSEC or something… Season finale of In Plain Sight on USA, but on worries a second season as already been ordered.
* 10.00 is also the time AMC has a new Mad Men
* And on Lifetime it’s a new episode of Army Wives

(S01E11) When it premiered, I wasn’t anywhere near being a fan of this new series. But it seems that, and that might be the case with many (USA) series, with time things have gotten quite better and I’m now looking forward to a new episode every Sunday night. Of course, that won’t last for long as next week is (already) the season finale, but before we say goodbye to Mary and her dysfunctional family we had to see all Hell broke loose in their little world.
From day one we had this ongoing plot about Mary’s sister Brandi and all the drugs she was carrying, because if you have to hide a pile of drug, what better place than your U.S. Marshall sister’s home ? We knew it would eventually all go down and be a huge mess, we knew Brandi was nowhere near as smart as her sister and would obviously end up in deep trouble.
This week, it all started to collapse, and it was pretty awesome!

(S01E10) I think I’m conflicted over what I think about this show, or more precisely how I feel about it. There’s a couple of things that have me unable to really stick with a definite position I think. First of all it is made out of different stories, about each episode contains at least two main plots : first, we have a new witness situation for Mary (and Marshall) to take care of; and secondly we have Mary’s private life, and that means her little sister and her mother.
Like most of everyone I think, I don’t like the later. Not that developing Mary’s private life is a bad idea per-se, but the use of family relatives was a clear mistake here. It never really brought anything to the show, but they’re here and as long as long are it’s a problem, because those plots are usually pretty lame and boring and take the entire episode down.

(S01E09) Last week I wasn’t too happy with this show, because after a pretty great episode, and given how each episode had a tendency to be better than the last, I guess it’s fair to day we might have had some expectations that clearly weren’t met. The show has improved from its debut, it’s gotten better, but last week it wasn’t at his best.
So it’s a great thing to see that this week it got better, and while there are still flaws - and this episode had quite a few things that felt a bit off, really - at least it was back to a better level. This was another episode that, despite everything, I really enjoyed. I had a good time and I think that this is the kind of episode we might want to see each week from this show, only with less flaws/non-sense maybe.

(S01E08) It’s been recently announced that In Plain Sight would return for another season, with already 16 episodes ordered. The show has been doing well and, more importantly for us, episodes have had a tendency lately to get better week after week, so such a good news is obviously welcome. With that announcement and the memory of last week’s episode, which was the best one of the show so far, I think it’s fair to say that this week I had some expectations from this episode.
Not that I usually don’t, but now I was really hoping that the quality delivered last week would remain in this episode, and that the show would stay on his road to become a really good thing. So it is with great sadness that I have to report how disappointed I was with this episode, which really felt like taking a turn back to weeks before, when things weren’t all that good.
