NBC Fall Promo

Well, it says NBC but I guess it should read Heroes

Good news for Chuck fans though, seems NBC wants this show to be a hit and is willing to promote it. Apart from that, if you don’t care for Heroes I guess you’re screwed! God I hate NBC…

Heroes creator worried about product placement

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 4, 2008

HeroesApparently Heroes creator Tim Kring is getting worried that product placement and over staffing of digital divisions (online content) [at NBC] might affect the shows. Well, I’d say that’s a pretty fair worry to have, especially if you’re on NBC, as perfectly illustrated by, say, the second season of Heroes.

In a panel discussion Wednesday at NATPE’s LATV Festival in Hollywood, Kring explained that “the big fear for us is that when [digital/made for online distribution] material and content start to be generated by people who are outside the main or inner core of the creative force of a show, you have all sorts of pitfalls and things that can go wrong. You throw a little bit of sponsorship and product placement into the show and you have a recipe for all kinds of serious problems“.

2008 Teen Choice Awards: And The Winners Are…

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 4, 2008

Blake Lively @ TCA 2008The ceremony airs tonight at 8.00 on Fox, but it has already been shot and the winners are already known. Of course, if you haven’t heard about it yet and wishes to stay in the dark until the show, for some reason, feel free to do so - I won’t post any results before the jump.

I’ll just remind you that as far as nominations went, despite what Nielsen may say Gossip Girl was a clear winner. If according to ratings the show isn’t a hit, it surely is when it comes to what teens actually love, never mind whether or not they can relate to the story as some recently complained about…

What to know if GG was the hit the TCA nominations announced it would be, or if Nielsen was right all along ? Wait to find out tonight on Fox, or just click right now to read the read of this post…

Comic-Con: Something Horrible, and NBC does something right…

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | July 28, 2008

ComicConMore than we’d like to, NBC screw things up pretty badly, or worse. But occasionally they do something right, and when it happens it should be noted. If, like me or so many people out there, you didn’t get a chance to go to Comic Con, you might be frustrated to read about all the great things missed. Sure, there are great reports about the different panels, but nothing is like being there.

But what about videos of the panel ? It’s not the same, but you get it all, audio and video, so it’s he next best thing. And NBC put online quite a few panels available for free and without any restrictions, so whether or not you’re in the US feel free to enjoy the panels of The Office, Chuck, Heroes, Kings or Knight Rider !

2008 Complete Fall Schedule with Premiere Dates

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | July 20, 2008

CalendarAt this point we have the fall schedule and premiere dates for all the main networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW) so now the only thing that remains is for you to search for the information concerning the shows you love/are interested in.

To make things easier for everyone, I took back the complete new fall schedule compiled before premiere dates were known and updated it. You will find here the complete 2008 fall schedule day by day, with all shows on their slot with their premiere dates included. That way you can see how [insert day here] will be, try to see what you’ll watch and what you’ll have set on your DVR, and when things will be back.

And because sometimes you want to know things the other way around, know what will be on at a given time, I’ve also included the list of all premieres dates ordered by date. With all that, hopefully you should have all the information you need to get ready for next fall.

ABC announce fall premiere dates, also included CBS, Fox and NBC fall premiere dates

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | July 16, 2008

CalendarABC just released their fall premiere dates, and if on some networks new episodes kick in as soon as early September, on ABC you’ll have to wait a bit longer to get your latest fix. Boston Legal is the first script series to come back, and that won’t happen until September 22 !!

Yep, that late. Could be worse though, imagine you were a fan of, say, Pushing Daisies or Dirty Sexy Money, then September won’t be easy on you, because they’re not returning to the air before October ! Though they do kick on on the first day of the month, if that’s any comfort… If you’re waiting for Samantha Who? or Eli Stone on the other hand, you don’t even get such comfort, as they will return respectively on October 6, and October 14 !

ABC new series are Opportunity Knocks, premiering on September 23; and Life On Mars, coming in much later, on October 9.

Interested in a full listing, followed by a complete listing of all shows premiere dates (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) ? It’s all after the jump !

Kristen Bell returning to Heroes

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | July 15, 2008

Kristen BellBig shocking news : the lovely Kristen Bell will be returning to Heroes next season.

So, yeah, I know, it’s not really a surprise or even really new, we all knew it would happen, but it’s in the news, as it was confirmed she would reprise her role as Elle Bishop next season, for a multiple episode arc. Which means she’s no series regular, and maybe not even recurring given how long that arc will actually last. “I’m just happy to be electrocuting people again!” Kristen told People.

Now I don’t really care either way to tell you the truth, because last season sucked and I am confident this one will too, just like, as I said not so long ago, I’m sure neither Nikki nor Nathan will actually end up dead…

So why mention this in the first place ? I don’t know, it’s just an excuse to have a picture of Kristen Bell up I guess, cause that’s always nice.

Heroes returns on NBC September 22nd for its third season.

Horizon Media makes predictions about next season’s successes and failures

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | July 8, 2008

FringeFall season is still month away, but if you’re a TVoholic if probably wonder which series will be a hit, and which will die before the end of the year ?

Of course no one really knows, but Horizon Media loves to speculate and, in their annual television report, go ahead and make their predictions. Sadly I haven’t read that report nor do I really know what they base their predictions on (did they saw the pilots for all series??), but let’s talk about it anyways, shall we?

Of course, the number one hit of next season goes to Fox, with J.J. Abrams’ Fringe. Now that an easy one, I think we can all agree on that one, it’s a no-brainer. According to Hollywood Reporter, HM predicts that the second highest-rated new show will be CBS’ Eleventh Hour.

I’m not really sure about that one. Of course, I haven’t seen the pilot, unlike Fringe, but it didn’t look that good/exciting to me, and one could also wonder whether or not it might sound a little to close to Fringe, people might compare the two shows, and in such a fight, if there can only be one, it will be Fringe.

CBS Premiere Dates, And Full Update

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | June 26, 2008

CalendarAs we sometimes wonder what to watch these days, cause there isn’t really much on (though tonight we got both Swingtown and Fear Itself), the premiere dates for next fall keeps coming in.

We can now add CBS to the list, and it’s pretty straight forward, no surprise, no special time slot for the premiere, nothing like that. When it comes to CBS, September 22 will be the D day. On this Monday will return the comedy night (introducing new series Worst Week), and the usual CSI: Miami that comes after.

Then, the two next days gets to see their shows back on, and it stops. Until Friday, October 3 where new series come back again, ending the return of CBS series on Thursday, October 9 with CSI and new series Eleventh Hour.

Full listing, and a reminder of when the other shows come back, it’s all after the jump !

The 34th Annual Saturn Awards: Winners

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | June 25, 2008

Saturn AwardBack in February the nominees were announced, and Lost was leading nominations receiving no less than 8 nominations. The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films made the winner known, and the ABC hit-drama is now leading again, taking home half of those awards, including the much-deserved Best Network Television Series award. And other than the award for Best Actress on Television, I’m pretty happy with the results.

Here’s how it goes (in italic my votes back from February 21st, in bold the winners) :
