(S05E12) This is it, the end of the season. Last week things weren’t looking really good for Vince, as things have been most of the time this season in fact. We started after Medellin, biggest failure in a while, and after that no one was willing to work with Vincent Chase again. This was the season Vince had to get back on track, climb back to the top all over again.
And this episode was just like the season overall, there were good things, it showed premise for a moment and you even started to dream that changes might be heading their way, but that was just an illusion. Soon enough, it fall back into the usual ways of Entourage and nothing changed, everything got back to normal leaving you, sadly, disappointed.

* Of course, tonight is all about Jack Bauer. It’s not before January 11th that his new day will begin, but it’s been way too long since we last heard of him, so tonight he’s finally back will a little prelude in a two-hour TV movie. Let’s hope things will be better than last season… for us that is, of course.
* At 8.00 on ABC it’s a special night with the American Music Awards
* And of course, Fox has the famous 24: Redemption
* While on Showtime there’s a new Brotherhood
* At 9.00 on CBS there’s a new Cold Case
* While HBO has the season finale of True Blood
* And Showtime a new episode of Dexter
* At 10.00 on CBS there’s a new episode of The Unit
* On HBO it’s another season finale, the one of Entourage
* While on Showtime there’s a new Californication
* And don’t forget at 11.00 on HBO a brand new episode of the always hilarious The Life & Times Of Tim

(S05E11) We’re getting dangerously close to the end of this season, as next week will be the season finale of Entourage. This was not the last episode of the season, and yet it’s easy to see how it could have worked as a finale very well. In fact, and while I’m not sure what’s going to happen during the actual season finale, I almost wish this had been it.
Because it was a pretty cool episode, lots to enjoy, and the ending could have actually worked very nicely as a way to say goodbye to the boys for the time being. But when thinking about it, I’m really glad we have one more week to make things change and end the season in a different place, I just hope they’ll do it right. Because one thing that happened too many times this season, is to gave the impression that changes could be on the way, that things could be different, only to always resort back to the old ways of the show.

(S05E10) This is a show about Hollywood and what goes on behind the scenes, what we usually never get to see. And, at heart, Hollywood is all about the looks, more important than what is, which barely matters, is what it looks like. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling a piece of crap as long as it looks good, and so maybe it’s only normal that this is what we’re getting from the show, something that might look good, but fails to deliver.
Many times this season we’ve been in that situation where things looked great, exciting, finally interesting again, and sadly it never really happened. Ari got a major offer and could have gone for a life-changing move, but he passed and everything went back to normal, the usual (not to say boring) daily wandering of everyone. And this week it felt a little bit of the same.

(S05E09) Despite what it might sometimes look like, on Entourage we never really have to worry about anything, because in the end it always work out nicely for Vince and the boys. Oh sure, when they went full on into Medellin it wasn’t really a success, and Vince’s career hasn’t been skyrocketing ever since that one came out and was trashed like no movie before it had been.
But still, it was without much trouble that E got his hands on a magical script, one that got Edward Norton involved so it is going to be turned into a really big production movie, a potential hit, not some low-budget indie movie that would kill Ari. And thank God there was a death for the right person at the right time, putting Ari in the perfect position to put his client back on track, and in the movie.

(S05E08) It’s been a while now already, since Medellin was a huge failure, probably the worst ever in a long time, and it’s been about as long since Vince told Ari that he was ready. He was ready to fight back, get in the game and become a movie star, for real. After that, things slowed down a little and last week, while Vince was still having fun, we saw a possibility of change heading the way of one Ari Gold.
Of course, him being close to Vince and them being friends, this wasn’t going to have an impact on Ari’s career only, it would also have repercussions on Vince’s career, the first of all being about that movie he’s been dying to do and, since Edward Norton is still involved on the project, that should actually be a really good one.
