Not a lot of people at 8.00 watching TV, and if the CBS comedies won the slot in viewers they were actually down and got beaten on the demo by NBC’s Muppets Christmas, bringing The Eye down overall on the night. But the net was still a clear winner, with 11.92 million viewers while NBC, second in line, only had 6.52 million.
At 8.00 New Adventures Of Old Christine couldn’t do better than 7.47 million viewers (-800 000) and only 2.0 on the demo, and while down as well lead-out Gary Unmarried actually gained viewers from its lead-in (7.55 million viewers, -600 000) as well as improving on the demo (2.3) as always. On NBC the Muppets Christmas had 7.44 million viewers but a 2.4 on the demo, making it winner of the slot there.

The year is slowly coming to an end, and with it television is like a tree losing its leaves, only it’s our beloved TV shows that are disappearing, leaving our screens empty. It’s always a sad but required period of time when there simply isn’t as much stuff on TV as there used to be, but just to make things more fun (or something like that) not every show airs up to the same date/week and leaves at the same time.
If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering which shows are already gone for this year, and when are the others going to leave us, and this is why I went on to collect such information about quite a few shows and put it all in one place. Now, you can have a quick look at the updated list below, and see if your favorite show has some episodes left for 2008, and if so how many and when they will air.

Unlike last week CBS had its usual lineup this time, and it showed : 12.03 million viewers overnight, where the second net, NBC, couldn’t even get half of that (5.98 million). The Eye was also winner on the demo with a 3.2, while no one other net could even reach 2.0 but Fox (2.1) The key of success ? Criminal Minds!
Before that the comedies did well, very well in fact : New Adventures Of Old Christine had a season high with 8.25 million viewers (2.2 on the demo) while lead-out Gary Unmarried had one of its best performances with 8.03 million viewers and a 2.4 on the demo. Sadly on ABC it’s not the very little bump that will change anything, with only 4.96 million viewers (1.6 on the demo) for Pushing Daisies.

A pretty good night for NBC last night, as the Peacock managed to do something it hasn’t done in a long time : win the night. Of course, it certainly helped that CBS didn’t air neither Criminal Minds nor CSI: New-York, but the Eye was still a winner on the demo.
Starting great at 8.00 with the most-watched program of the night, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, and 11.74 million viewers and 4.2 on the demo, much better than what the comedies usually do. On NBC instead of a dying Knight Rider (or Rosie doing even worse) things were finally looking up, with 10.35 million viewers for Christmas In Rockefeller Center.

Shows: Dirty Sexy Money, Law & Order, Life, Private Practice, Pushing Daisies
By fred | December 3, 2008

* Tonight is a rather slow night, with both CBS and Fox out. Also, ABC is airing episode 8 of Dirty Sexy Money, meaning the Thanksgiving special episode (S02E07) in which the missing Darling, Juliet (Samaire Armstrong), was returning, won’t air. Or maybe it will at a later date, I’m not exactly sure…
* At 8.00 on ABC there’s a new (and one of the last) Pushing Daisies, so enjoy it while you can!
* At 9.00 one of the best shows is on NBC (shocking, I know) with a new episode of the excellent Life, of course
* And ABC has a new Private Practice
* At 10.00 on ABC we have the new episode of Dirty Sexy Money
* While NBC has a new episode of Law & Order

Technically they haven’t been canceled, no, not just because ABC was careful not to ever use that word, but also because all three series will complete production of all 13 ordered episodes (Pushing Daisies is already done in fact), but also because the Alphabet only chose not to order more episodes, but should air all the remaining episodes. I guess this is the lesser part of a very sad news.
But the facts remains, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money are all dead, and sadly there’s no magical pie maker to bring them back to life…
Because it is sad to see those shows go, especially – with no offense to the Darlings – for Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone, two shows that were very unique and different than anything else on TV, filled with heart and creativity. Sadly, despite delivering good episodes – Wednesday’s episode of Pushing Daisies was one of the best the show ever did – the rating didn’t follow – same PD episode was a series low.

Shows: Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies

A night all for CBS last night, this making it quite depressing for all TVoholics out there I would imagine. Not everything was bad, for instance Bones continues to do very well, clear winner of the slot with 10.73 million viewers and a 3.1 on the demo. Meanwhile the CBS comedies are doing rather well as well, New Adventures Of Old Christine with 8.09 million viewers and a 2.5 on the demo – a new season high – leading in a new series high for Gary Unmarried, doing even better with 8.14 million viewers and a 2.7 on the demo.
As for the news we were all waiting for, it looks really bad. Pushing Daisies might have had one of its best episode to date, it was also an awful series low with not even 5 million viewers !! Only 4.86 million and a 1.8 on the demo, all signs that indicates the show won’t be picked up unfortunately. Knight Rider on NBC managed to somehow get more viewers (5.12 million, series low) but was unsurprisingly beaten on the demo (1.5 vs 1.8) where it came last.
