(S02E22) There you have it, the very last episode of the season for Chuck. I really hope that this is all that it will be, and that despite all their new series order and, of course, that stupid Leno taking over the 10.00pm slot next season, NBC will still manage to keep Chuck on the air, but despite a show as good and fun as it’s been all season long, nothing is certain.
(I hope that NBC decided to go for a different approach, ordering seasons of about 13 episodes at most, against the usual 22 we usually get on networks. Because that would give writers more time to work some nice script, and we all know how they’ve often been jealous of cable shows which has that luxury, and because let’s face it: that would allow more shows, and that’s probably the only way for this show to get a third season these days…)

(S02E21) I feel a little conflicted about this episode. On the one hand, this might have been the most awesome episode the show ever did, and yet on the other hand it was so good – and so well done in the way things went down – that I’m afraid of what will come next. As you all know, chances are that, unfortunately, there won’t be a third season. It’s just math, and the fact that NBC exec are morons.
Since they have lots of shows, already ordered a bunch of new series, all while at the same time giving up in the 10.00pm slot to Leno, they will cancel lots of shows, and Chuck might simply not be renewed because they don’t have a slot for it. That makes next episode a season finale, for sure, and quite probably a series finale as well — even though I hope not.

(S02E20) Sometimes when you watched an episode of Chuck, you can clearly see an underlying theme. Something that becomes relevant both in the spy world of Chuck, and in Buymoria one way or another as well. Things like how to deal with a loved one, who to trust, or whether or not to hurt a friend for his own good. Writers obviously like to do that, and I trust that they can do it well.
That is, without repeating over and over and over again what it is all about. Like having Morgan wonder who he can trust and whether or not he should trust his enemy, or Chuck talking about trusting (or not) the CIA, trusting Sarah and Casey with their life, trusting that the CIA does all it can to find his dad, instead of coming up with new yogurt to sell at Orange Orange…

(S02E19) Chuck has always been a mix of both comedy on the one hand, and spy-stuff on the other hand. Of course, at the heart of the show is the spy stuff, Chuck being he Intersect, having Casey & Sarah watching over him as he got to go into those crazy missions saving the world and whatnot. But then again, while this is what the show is about, what it really is a comedy, it’s all about being funny and having fun – and not just in Buymoria.
When it’s at its best, the show will combine both elements perfectly, making the spy world filled with comedy while whatever crazy thing is going down and the Buy More will somehow end up linked to the spy world one twisted way or another. This week however, the spy element of the show clearly took over, and adding a little family reunion for the Bartowski and it wasn’t as funny as it usually is…

(S02E18) After some development in the ongoing plot in recent weeks with some pretty good episodes, this episode managed to be at the same time both enjoyable and yet disappointing. It was enjoyable because the show has been around for some time now, and they clearly now how to use all those characters and put them in situations which will, one way or another, end up being funny - if not for them, at least for us.
Yet it was also disappointing at the same time, for a few reasons. This first one might be that, save for the very last scene and the cliffhanger they ended the episode with, which promise interesting development in the future while not really delivering any presently, the plot didn’t really move this time. It looked like there might be changes, but in a good TV fashion it all got resolved by the end of the episode, with everything back to normal.
