(S02E13) Ever since the season premiere, we have known that something bad was coming up, and that it would somehow involve a teddy bear missing an eye floating in Walter’s pool, and leave a couple of dead bodies around his house. We have been wondering all season what exactly would be happening, what would cause all this, but we knew one thing for sure : it was all due to Walter.
Whatever the direct cause of that mysterious event would be, we knew that it was only a consequence, the result of Walter’s actions over the course of this season, as he kept getting better cancer-wise, but worse in any other aspect of his life. This was all brilliantly done, all season through, to get us here with a season finale opening exactly as did the season premiere…

(S02E12) For a long time I assumed, and I don’t think that I was alone there, that if everything would eventually fall apart for Walter & Jesse, it would come from outsiders. Not that they wouldn’t have done wrong or made bad decisions, but what would eventually set the whole place on fire and get people to scream and run in circle would be one of those other guys.
The crazy ones, another Tuco or the infamous Cartel, who we’ve heard from a song wasn’t too happy about them and saw Walter as a dead man already. It was so obvious that they weren’t ready to deal with any of those people and the crazy world that comes with them, that they would eventually cause everything to collapse. But in the end, the one responsible for everything might just be Walter, once again.

Shows: Breaking Bad
In Series: Breaking Bad Season 2
By fred | May 25, 2009
(S02E11) It is something we’ve pretty much knows from the get-go, from the very first episode of this show : it won’t have an happy ending. It just can’t end well, not when we’re dealing with what we’re dealing here, and especially not when our two leads behave the way they do. But if at first Jesse was the drug dealer, the “bad guy,” while Walter was only a poor family man hit by cancer, an high school teacher who learned he might not have long left.
Since then and especially during this season, we’ve seen things change. Or, we’ve seen Walter change. Walter might now be the bad guy, in that he’s the one forcing what happens and causing most if not all the pain and trouble in the people around him, he remains the driving force of the show, and/or the drug business in which he and Jesse are now in way too deep to ever get out of there well, or alive.

Shows: Breaking Bad, In Treatment

(S02E10) During most of last episode, Walt was certain of one thing : he only had a few more weeks ahead of him. With that in mind he cooked enough to ensure his family would be taken care of, and then came the shocking revelation of his condition, and Walter realized that it wasn’t good news. Time is something Walter had given up on, and for the very little he had left, he knew how to use it.
From the beginning Walter decided to go into the journey filled with drugs and murders out of “obligation,” he thought he had no choice if he wanted to provide for his family. Something happened along the way that he probably didn’t plan or even thought could be possible, not to him. Walter is no junkie, he cooks but never uses, addiction wasn’t a questions.
And yet, he’s an addict.

Shows: Breaking Bad

(S02E09) Running late in my TV viewing I didn’t get a chance to catch this episode until now, but the good thing about that is that unlike you I don’t have to wait one week to see what happens next, only a few hours and I get a second dose of what is, without a doubt, the best show on the air. There are a few shows I love out there, there’s no question Lost has been on a roll lately delivering two of its best seasons to date, but Breaking Bad is just grand.
It is what quality television should be and more, and every time I watch this show I find myself amazed at the quality of what I’m watching, in the writing, the acting, everything. Probably just a final proof that for the most part, great television isn’t found on the big networks anymore, and to anyone out there not watching this show: you’re missing on the best thing on TV right now, plain & simple.

As you may have noticed I haven’t mentioned any of Sunday’s shows, because things didn’t go as planned and I haven’t had a chance to watch them yet. Well, I did watch Family Guy but haven’t had time to write about it (although in short it sucked).
Both In Plain Sight and Breaking Bad are sitting on my DVR, and I haven’t given up on any of them of course. I can’t wait to see either of them, but obviously things didn’t stop in TV land and there are other shows I’ll get to first. I’ll try to watch & review them during the week though…

(S02E08) Sometimes you can loose faith in television, when you see some shows turning to crap, others being worse and yet getting a renewal all the while some brilliant series are let go or canceled after the network messed with it as much as they could. Luckily, though, every once in a while there’s hope. Every once in a while there’s a show that is simply brilliant, continues to deliver week after week and, because cable has such luxury, gets supported and renewed no problem.
Breaking Bad is one of those, one that makes me happy to watch TV. We continue to delve down inside the criminal lives of Walter & Jesse, and how the DEA slightly gets closer and closer to them, and every step we take, shall it be small or not, is just a delight. If the show is character driven, and loves to take its times and focus on those moments between chaos and explosions, sometimes things move, and fast.
