Monday is a pretty big night on TV, and that’s absolutely not going to change this season. Much like last season, Monday nights will be (one of) the busiest night in TV land, and it will be quite impossible to catch everything good (or that you wanna watch anyways) that’s on that day unless you have your 3 DVDs set & ready.
First, a look at what’s to come…
* Look no further that at 8.00 to meet the first dilemma of the night : how to decide between the rich kids of Gossip Girl on The CW - returning tonight!; Glaubot and her friends still trying to save the world, or at least John Connor, on Fox with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles starting to kick ass September 8th; the geeks who really can be funny on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, returning September 22nd; or the less geeks but more butt-kicking spies of Chuck back on NBC September 29th
* And don’t forget that at 8.30 it’s the always awesome Barney Stinson Shown How I Met Your Mother back with everything you could want, and a goat, starting September 22nd on CBS
* At 9.00 things aren’t quite easier, with Sara’s head back in Prison Break on Fox, starting tonight at 8.00 in a two-hour season premiere; One Tree Hill back on The CW also starting tonight; Charlie Sheen and his half and a half back on CBS as Two And A Half Men returns on September 22nd; and all the Heroes who never ever die back on NBC starting that same September 22nd with a two-hour season premiere
* At 9.30 it’s the new CBS comedy Worst Week, premiering on the now famous September 22nd, while on ABC Samantha Who? is back, though not before October 6th
* At 10.00 on ABC it’s a new season of Boston Legal, starting September 22nd as well; on CBS it’s the usual CSI: Miami back that same September 22nd; a new series about lawyers, judges, and Malcolm mother, or something, Raising The Bar on TNT starting tonight; and NBC it’s a new series, My Own Worst Enemy, premiering October 13th. Though that’d be too easy, so actually the fantastic series Life is coming back for its sophomore season September 29th, then airs on Friday at 10.00 before being back Monday (October 6th) after finally settling in its slot, Fridays at 10.00

At this point we have the fall schedule and premiere dates for all the main networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW) so now the only thing that remains is for you to search for the information concerning the shows you love/are interested in.
To make things easier for everyone, I took back the complete new fall schedule compiled before premiere dates were known and updated it. You will find here the complete 2008 fall schedule day by day, with all shows on their slot with their premiere dates included. That way you can see how [insert day here] will be, try to see what you’ll watch and what you’ll have set on your DVR, and when things will be back.
And because sometimes you want to know things the other way around, know what will be on at a given time, I’ve also included the list of all premieres dates ordered by date. With all that, hopefully you should have all the information you need to get ready for next fall.

There’s been much talk and then some about those nominations, as the top10 finalists lists have been made public, or find a way to the public eyes. But now speculations are over as the official nominees were announced by Patrick Harris and Kristen Chenoweth - both nominated by the way.
What to say ? Not many surprises, even with things that went wrong and the misses here and there. Not much love for The Wire, I think more was expected, but it’s a general trend : cable networks are kicking in with style (AMC, FX, etc) and HBO is really lacking some great hits nowadays. Sure, The Wire is still around, and Entourage hasn’t been forgotten despite being away for so long, plus the “experimental” In Treatment was noticed, but it’s not like they had a The Sopranos or Sex And The City anyways…

ABC just released their fall premiere dates, and if on some networks new episodes kick in as soon as early September, on ABC you’ll have to wait a bit longer to get your latest fix. Boston Legal is the first script series to come back, and that won’t happen until September 22 !!
Yep, that late. Could be worse though, imagine you were a fan of, say, Pushing Daisies or Dirty Sexy Money, then September won’t be easy on you, because they’re not returning to the air before October ! Though they do kick on on the first day of the month, if that’s any comfort… If you’re waiting for Samantha Who? or Eli Stone on the other hand, you don’t even get such comfort, as they will return respectively on October 6, and October 14 !
ABC new series are Opportunity Knocks, premiering on September 23; and Life On Mars, coming in much later, on October 9.
Interested in a full listing, followed by a complete listing of all shows premiere dates (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) ? It’s all after the jump !

Well, today we have even more Emmy talk to do, as the semi-finalists for Best Drama Actor and Best Drama Actress are out. Well, it’s not really official but sources are trusted. Some good choices have been made, but there are a few names missing as well, sadly.
I’m happy to see Bryan Cranston, terrific on Breaking Bad, or Gabriel Byrne, amazing on In Treatment, on the list, and of course it’s great to see Hugh Laurie (House) there, even though the Academy never bothered giving the guy an award so far. At least it helps a bit swallowing the absence of Robert Sean Leonard as Supporting Drama Actor.
However, I’m really sad not to see Damian Lewis on that list, not just because I feel Life was the greatest new show last season, but because he was delivering one Hell of a performance, in a pure terrific British tradition, as initiated by Hugh Laurie. And, really, Patrick Dempsey ?? Okay he’s McDreamy and all, but really?? James Spader ?? Oh come one people… Matthew Fox on Lost way also way better!

And now the list for Best Supporting Drama Actress is out, and I’ll say that there are two big names I’m shocked not to see on that list, because I felt they should be actual nominees for the award : the first one is Sarah Shahi, from NBC’s Life. She’s been quite amazing the entire season opposing Damian Lewis, and I’m really shocked not to see her here. I guess it was to do with Life not getting lots of press somehow, even though it was simply the best new series of the season, hands down.
Well, I surely hope Damian Lewis won’t be overlooked either, because he is too doing some amazing job !
The second name I’m shocked not to see here is Mia Wasikowska, known as Sophie on HBO’s daily series In Treatment ! She was nothing but amazing, and I cannot believe she’s not on that list ! Eben more shocking to me, Dianne Wiest, from In Treatment as well, is. It’s not that she was bad, but I honestly feel Mia Wasikowska deserves the nomination a lot more, but I guess her name wasn’t known enough… what a bunch of crap!

Some Emmy Finalists have already been made public, and now a few more are out. The list of semi-finalists for Best Comedy Actress and Best Supporting Drama Actor. Once again those lists aren’t for official nominees, people need to vote so we can get the official five nominees; still let’s talk about it!
Many are commenting on how Teri Hatcher is missing from the list, while Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria Parker are all on the list. I’ll just say that, sure, it looks like a snub especially on the semi-finalists list, but where does it say all Desperate Housewives actresses have to be all nominated ? I don’t hear people complain that much when only a couple of actors or actresses from Lost are nominated, and not the others.

The Emmys have released the lists of top 10 finalists for best comedy and best drama series. It’s not the nominations, just a “pre-selection”, but there’s already some (big) surprises, like the inclusion of Family Guy in the best comedy series — never an animated series made it there, but this year creator-producer Seth MacFarlane opted to have his show run for the best comedy series, while submitting a special episode (Blue Harvest) to the animated category — as well as some misses.
I mean I really wanted to see Life on the Best Drama list, and I can’t believe that once again How I Met Your Mother isn’t on the Best Comedy list ! You won’t also find Desperate Housewives (but that makes sense to me), My Name Is Earl, Scrubs, or Heroes but it is to include the one that’d have been surprising this year.

Well, there’s no mystery about last night : it was the big season finale of American Idol, a two-hour monster hit, and many caved in without a fight. NBC had two hours of Law & Order reruns, ABC had two hours of Lost reruns, and The CW had two hours of Farmer Want A Wife reruns. They didn’t even try, so why care. CBS on the other hand had something, especially a season finale of their own at 9.00 (Criminal Minds)…
You’ve probably been hearing everywhere that Idol was not performing as good as it used to, that it was on the way down, and while it is true, it does not do as well as it used to, if it keeps going down the way it does now, I think it’s fair to say Fox have some pretty good years ahead of them. I mean it lost only 100 000 viewers over last year, and with 30.6 million viewers overnight, I’m sure at Fox they’re all laughing at those calling it the beginning of the end…
