The year is slowly coming to an end, and with it television is like a tree losing its leaves, only it’s our beloved TV shows that are disappearing, leaving our screens empty. It’s always a sad but required period of time when there simply isn’t as much stuff on TV as there used to be, but just to make things more fun (or something like that) not every show airs up to the same date/week and leaves at the same time.
If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering which shows are already gone for this year, and when are the others going to leave us, and this is why I went on to collect such information about quite a few shows and put it all in one place. Now, you can have a quick look at the updated list below, and see if your favorite show has some episodes left for 2008, and if so how many and when they will air.

If you remember correctly, last week CBS was on rerun mode, and still won the night. So with new episodes on, there’s no real question as to who the winner was last night, is there?
CBS comedy block is as effective as ever, The Big Bang Theory opening with a new series high at 10.80 million viewers and 3.8 op the demo, followed by How I Met Your Mother and slightly less viewers but still a new season high with 10.49 million viewers and always growing from its lead-in on the demo, with a 4.2

For the first night of December CBS only had repeats to offer, but (sadly) that was enough. The Eye won the night, both in total viewers and on the demo, even though no net would get 10 million viewers (CBS averaged 9.93 million).
At 8.00 it was all about reruns, first the ones from ABC (How The Grinch Stole Christmas, 11.71 million, and Shrek The Halls, 11.17 million) and then the ones from CBS (How I Met Your Mother, 8.03 million, and The Big Bang Theory, 8.02 million). All those reruns beat the new programs airing at the same time, which is a shame because those were really great ones!

* Don’t even think of tuning in to CBS, it’s rerun night for The Eye. So here’s a good idea for the millions of viewers left without their comedies : tune in to Fox instead! Because Terminator is surely one of the best shows you’re not watching right now!
* At 8.00 Fox has a new episode of the great Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
* While on NBC there are still laughs in a new Chuck
* And The CW has finally a new episode of Gossip Girl
* At 9.00 on Fox there’s some kind of “mid-season premiere” for Prison Break, with a brand new journey to start, or something
* NBC has a new episode of Heroes
* And on The CW there’s a new episode of a great show that needs (and deserves) your help and eyes, Privileged
* And finally on ABC there’s a new Samantha Who?
* Followed at 9.30 by another episode of the same Samantha Who?
* At 10.00 on ABC there’s a new Boston Legal
* While on NBC there’s a new My Own Worst Enemy

As always on Mondays, ABC was the winner of the night in total viewers while CBS took the demo. As for the others? Well, they try to survive… You can be sure Fox is dying for its ‘09 lineup packing House and 24 together to come to life!
At 8.00 CBS started off more than very well, both The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother getting more than 10 million viewers ! The former opened with a new series high at 10.19 million viewers and 3.9 on the demo, while the later had a new season high with 10.04 million and a nice 4.3 on the demo !

* On The CW there’s a new episode of One Tree Hill
* At 9.30 on ABC there’s a new Samantha Who?
* While on CBS there’s a new Worst Week
* Then at 10.00 ABC has a new Boston Legal
* There’s a new episode of CSI: Miami on CBS
* And NBC has a new episode of canceled My Own Worst Enemy
* And it’s not TV, and it’s not even tonight, but the long awaited season 2 of the great web-series The Guild (created/produced/written/… by the lovely Felicia Day, Dr Horrible’s Penny) makes its debut tomorrow on its new platform, MSN, but still 100% free of course. Don’t forget to check it out, and while waiting there’s already a funny scene (Season 2 Teaser) up on MSN, or directly from The Guild’s site — alongside the complete first season.

CBS comedy night is definitely doing wonders, there’s no question there. While it had a little less viewers than a week ago (-300 000) for its series high, The Big Bang Theory still did very well with 9.70 million viewers and 3.7 on the demo. And that led into a new high for How I Met Your Mother and 9.84 million viewers, and an excellent 4.3 on the demo.
Last week it was a tie, and this week – while and having almost 9.5 million less viewers – How I Met Your Mother beat Dancing With The Stars on the demo. Clearly things are doing well for CBS. On NBC it might not look it, but it was good news as well. Chuck had half a million more viewers than last week, and a new season high with 6.80 million viewers and 2.6 on the demo.
