Tonight On TV: Desperate Mafia, Cold Wire, and more!
By fred | January 6, 2008

* Well, look at that! Seems that there are finally some new things on TV tonight.
* At 8.00 you’ll probably want to watch a new episode of The Simpsons on Fox
* At 9.00 I heard that this new season of Desperate Housewives had left viewers hanging, so you’ll be happy to see a new episode ! Sadly, though, this is the very last episode of the show that was completed before the strike kicked in, so after this one it will be months before you get some more.
* At the same time, don’t forget that the new season of The Wire premieres on HBO. I keep hearing great things about this show, and so I got the DVD of the first season and only watched a few episodes so far, but it does look pretty good.
* A little after, since CBS got its schedule all screwed, the new Cold Case comes in at 9.30
* And finally, at 10.00 on ABC premieres the new series, Cashmere Mafia.
The new Darren Star (Sex & The City) production, for which only seven episodes out of the 13 ordered have been completed, is supposed to be real good, just okay, and pretty awful depending on who you talk too. I haven’t seen it yet, so I’ll tell you who’s right tomorrow, one thing for sure already : it cannot possibly be any worse than Lipstick Jungle. Now that, looked really really, really awful.
It’s about four women, portrayed by Lucy Liu, Frances O’Connor, Miranda Otto and Bonnie Somerville, and it’s aiming to be the new Sex & The City pretty much, I guess. After this episode the show will move on Wednesdays at 10.00, starting January 9.
Here’s a trailer, if you care :
