Cleaning my DVR, I finally watched a few shows I still hadn’t, and I’ll also mention a few I had seen but not mention here yet. So here we go, about Criminal Minds, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money, My Name Is Earl, The Office and Numb3rs.

(S04E02) So while I liked the whole one-hour long episode last week, despite hearing some people complaining about the format, I also mentioned that I thought this could be nothing but fun for us viewers, as long as they writers were able not to focus so much on that new, hour long format. I think in the first episode, as well as in this one, it’s pretty clear that there’s in fact two episodes put together.
And that’s not a bad thing. As I had said, it would even have been a great thing if they hadn’t been afraid to write two “completely separated” and independent stories, one for each episode - or “half-episode”. I honestly don’t think viewers would have minded, because it would have been twice an half-hour of hilarity as The Office knows to deliver, and that’s exactly what we love.

Shows: The Office
In Series: The Office Season 4

(S04E03) Well well.. What to say, really, about this show. I am a big fan of The Office, it is a fantastic show, great cast and brilliant writing. It is hilarious and succeed to not fall into stupid sitcom cliché situations and plots, and its “mockumentary” touch and bits of realism mixed into it is always very well made. To be honest, I strongly believe that this one is better than the original British series.
Original was funny, but they made it hilarious. They’ve been able to turn good into great and make the American version of the show even better than the original was. This is probably the best, most funny sitcom on the air at this point, and I love it.
I really do, and that’s why watching those new hour-long episodes is so painful. As I said before, I wasn’t personally opposed to have twice as much of The Office every week, because I love it that much, but there was one condition for this to work fine : writers had not to break the rules and rhythm of the show.
But they did.

(S04E04) So I have been “complaining” about those new one-hour-long episode for The Office pretty much ever since it started, describing how it affected the show, and by affected I mean hurt.
Because they were written as two separate episodes, but with an effort to keep some kind of continuity between the two, usually ending up with a second episode, or second half, less funny that often went into unbelievable plot lines (kidnapping a pizza delivery boy or willingly crashing into a lake…) in order to fill out the full hour. It was stretched, you could tell, and it wasn’t a good thing.
This week we had the very last of those hour-long episodes, and for the occasion they did something very special : the best episode of the season so far!

(S04E05) Let’s be happy, people, we only got half an hour of The Office this time! It might sounds weird to say that at first, but - last week’s episode apart - we all know how the hour-long format really hurt the show. Despite that, we also all knew that it was still our great and beloved office and that once it would returned to its traditional half-hour format, there would be nothing but fun.
And, it’s like like we have to feel guilty about any of it anyways, because now that we’ve got half an hour less of this one, we have the return of medical comedy Scrubs ! I haven’t seen the last season premiere of this show yet, but I’m sure it was a lot of fun as well.
But let’s focus on The Office for now.

(S04E06) Aren’t we all glad that this show is finally back to its true form, and funny again. Well, not that it wasn’t funny when it lasted twice as long, but it just as Hell didn’t left us with that same feeling after wards.
I think everyone agrees that while hour-long episodes were around, except maybe for the last one that felt like a real, full episode of The Office that happened to last one hour; all others were dragged for too long, things were forced and resorted to some ludicrous plots, and in the end didn’t really left us wanting for more, but (almost) glad it was over.
But those days are back, the show is back to its original format, half-hour long episode, and that’s great.

(S04E07) Okay, time to finally stop worrying about Steve Carell’s recent decease - haven’t you heard ? he’s suffering from “enlarged balls”, that’s why he can’t show up at work these days. I swear! Anyways, as I was saying, time to dive back into the great comedy of The Office.
It might not have been that long since last time, but for some reason I felt like quite a while and I was really looking forward this one. I needed a break from all the strike news and wanted to laugh for while. So I sat & watched this episode…

(S04E08) This is very sad. We’re only at episode eight of the season so far, and yet this might be the very last one we’ll actually get to see this season, if the strike doesn’t end soon. That’s right, this episode was the last one completed and there won’t be any others until the strike is over.
And while there has been complaints about the first episodes of the season, those of the infamous one-hour long format, and then I remember last week not to be so great, at least for one of its plot, the gorgeous Jenna Fisher said that the next one, episode 9, was going to be the best one of the season so far. Makes you want to cry, doesn’t it?

Shows: The Office
In Series: The Office Season 4

(S04E09) Like with any other show, The Office has been away for some time. Except that unlike others, The Office was one of the first to shut down production as well as to vanish from our screens when the writers’ strike kicked in, and for that reason and many others like my total addiction for this show, it feels like it’s been years since I got to see a new episode of this show, and I was waiting for this one to return more than any other.
I really was, and I had some pretty enormous expectations for it, because it’s The Office, for one, but also because ever since they shut down production 4 years ago (or something like that), everyone - producers, writers, actors - have kept repeating how this episode, Dinner Party, which was written before the strike, was simply the funniest script they ever read.
So I wasn’t just waiting for the show to come back, I was waiting for an episode to be spectacular !

Shows: The Office

(S04E10) Last week, The Office was back, and it was a pretty “special” episode as it didn’t took place in the actual office, as most episodes of the show do, but at Michael’s place, or Jan’s place, I’m not sure. Either way, it seems some people weren’t too happy about that, arguing that because of that, it wasn’t really an Office episode, and moreover stating that it somehow wasn’t as funny as the show usually is.
Obviously, to say that is proof you’re an idiot, because the show was fully back, and the episode nothing less than hilarious, so much than my stomach was in pain I was laughing so much. I’m not saying it wasn’t a very unique episode, I’m saying it was some classic The Office at his best. Either way, this week we are back to the office, so I’m sure everyone will be happier.
