DVR Cleaning: My Name Is Scrubs, Chuck Who?

As always during the week-end I’m trying to find enough time to watch all the episodes I didn’t get a chance to watch during the week. It’s not that easy, being the TVoholic than I am I do spend a lot of time on it, but I also watch an awful lot of shows. I still have many more to watch, but here are a few thoughts on My Name Is Earl, the season premiere Scrubs entering its very last season, a new Samantha Who? and Chuck.

DVR Cleaning: Criminal Reaper, My Name Is Scrubs

You know the drill, every weekend I try to watch all that I couldn’t during the week. Yes, it’s true, I can’t watch everything during the week, there’s just too much to go through. But I don’t complain, I love that, and my busy week end as well. I realize that this is due to the strike, because if a deal had been worked out months ago networks would have had canceled quite a few of their new series already !

I guess we can thank the strike for helping networks giving more of a real chance to many shows, now let’s hope it doesn’t last too long so that it doesn’t end up hurting those very same shows, as well as others, in the end. Let’s all pray that the strike ends quick, I mean 4 weeks top would be the best. After that, things might get ugly…

But for now, here we go with new episodes of Reaper, Criminal Minds, My Name Is Earl and Scrubs.

DVR Cleaning: Aliens Who?, My Name Is Chuck, Criminal Scrubs

Criminal MindsYep, busy week end it was. I’m disappointed to see that there were no negotiation and that studio don’t even seem willing to go back and talk, every day it looks a little more like this strike is going to last, and that cannot be good. But at least we can support the writers and strike too, if we all do it things could go faster.

Anyways, this week-end I watched the latest episodes of Criminal Minds, Aliens In America, Samantha Who?, Chuck, My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. There were some very good things, others weren’t good, and some shows I’m just dropping completely.

DVR Cleaning: Criminal Scrubs, My Name Is Samantha

As every weekend I have a pretty filled DVR, and I’m trying to watch as much as I can before going into a new week. After all a new week is about to begin, and except for The Office there are still new episodes coming in.

I’ve had a few problems this week with my computer amongst other things, and I still had to work on fixing it. Anyways, I’ve just watched a few shows and here we go with a great Criminal Minds, Scrubs, My Name Is Earl and the very last episode Samantha Who? as far as I’m concerned.

Scrubs: My Growing Pains

Scrubs(S07E05) Everyone knows this season of Scrubs will be the last one ever. And that’s alright, by which I mean everybody knows it, starting with the creative team behind the show, so they will be able to get us a conclusion and to end it the way they want. Or at least let’s hope they can, but with all the ongoing writers’ strike plans might not go as planned.

Anyways, let’s not think about that for the moment. So writers are well aware this is the last season of the show, and quite obviously it shows. Not that this would necessary be a bad thing it itself, absolutely not, but so far this season I’m not sure it only had a good impact.

Scrubs: My Number One Doctor

Scrubs(S07E06) Yes, this is the very last season of Scrubs, and as such we viewers just want it to be one of the best, because we feel like if we’re going to loose this show forever, we might as well enjoy it at its best for the few little times we have left with it. Which is probably why last week, I had mixed feelings about the episode.

Not that I didn’t like it or thought it was bad, it wasn’t that much, but I felt like they were “wasting time” in a way, going over the same things and doing what they’d done before instead of moving on, whatever the way they wanted to actually move on and evolve was irrelevant here, I just didn’t want to feel stuck in the same place week after week, especially given how those are the last weeks we have.

Scrubs: My Bad Too

Scrubs(S07E07) The here we go with the last of all returning sitcoms of the Thursday lineup, and a brand new episode of Scrubs. Of course I could say this about pretty much every show that’s missing at this moment, but much like with The Office I feel like it’s been an awfully long time since we got to see a new episode of Scrubs, I’m pretty sure the last time was back in 2007.

So I was waiting for it, because I love the show, and I am really happy to see the show finally make it back on the air. As you all know by now I would assume, this is one of the last episodes of the show, to air on NBC. The Peacock did not order any more episodes and Scrubs isn’t part of their schedule for next season, yes I hate NBC as well, but at least the show should be saved and have a final season on ABC. Nothing official, but it seems they’re shooting new episodes as we speak, and they’re not for NBC so…

Scrubs: My Manhood

Scrubs(S07E08) Another episode of Scrubs in his last run on NBC. Now if I am not mistaking, those last episodes to air on NBC were done, or at least written but I’m pretty sure fully produced as well, before the strike actually kicked in. NBC decided to hold on to them because, well, they’re NBC, and when the strike was over and everyone wanted to go back to work, NBC decided that no, they wouldn’t order any more episodes than those already completed.

They did so of course because, well, they’re NBC. Thank God, the show won’t stop there without any ending, since ABC will take over and air the final season of the show, even though nothing’s official yet. So back to my point, those episodes were completed before the strike actually kicked in, so there’s nothing in there to blame on the strike, or that the strike or the possibility of another full season might have influenced, story-wise.

Scrubs: My Dumb Luck

Scrubs(S07E09) As we all know by know, even though we’ll still have to wait for ABC’s upfront presentation I guess to get an actual official confirmation that the show will be back next season on the Alphabet, we know that this isn’t the last season. But it was supposed to be, before the writers’ strike hit, and all those episodes that NBC is airing were done pre-strike, so with in mind that there would not be another season.

Of course, they hadn’t finished what they wanted, they hadn’t had time to get to the very last episodes, and that’s why they asked for more (to which NBC said no, because they’re morons). But what we’re watching now are episodes meant to be of the last ones of the show, ever. And it shows.

Scrubs: My Waste Of Time

Scrubs(S07E10) This episode, like all of the last episodes from this show to air on NBC, was made with in mind the idea that this was going to be the very last season of the show. We all know by now this won’t actually be the case, but by the time those were done this little fact wasn’t actually known by anybody. And so much like the rest of the season so far, while there’s still plenty of nothingness and goofing around, we actually get to see some evolution at Sacred Hearts and in the people who work here.

Or, those who don’t anymore. Last week was a major turning point, since it was the last time Kelso was around. He said his goodbyes and when offered the chance to keep his job, was more than pleased to refuse and move on. But life goes on, a new Chief has been nominated and JD keeps having his too long fantasies…
