(S01E01) I haven’t hidden the fact that NBC new cop show, Life, was one of the show I was most awaiting for. Hadn’t seen it, and despite what may sound like a quite old and, one might even say, boring, plot line - cop was framed and sent to jail for a triple murder he did not commit, eventually got proven innocent and released free after 12 years, with a nice but undisclosed amount of money, and of course he’s back in the force - yet despite all that, I simply couldn’t wait to see what it’d be like.
Why ? Because of a clip I saw. And a line I loved.

(S01E02) I think NBC has some pretty good new series this year, although the two best ones are definitely not the ones that gets talked about the most, for some weird reason. That’s right, I’m talking about you, stupid Bionic Chuck!
No their best ones are definitely Journeyman, and of course this very own Life, which is probably my favorite one. Oddly enough, while both feature for one part a serialized story that will extend throughout the entire series, for another the new “case” of the week the hero has to work on, I do feel differently towards each of those and how they’re dealt with.

(S01E04) Okay so there are many new shows this season, some I knew were gonna be bad, some I was disappointed a little but didn’t have that many hopes or expectations, others I do feel disappointed by, and of course some I have happy to see they’re as good if not better as I had hoped.
So far I can tell you this, despite it flaws Life is without question the best new NBC series this year, and one the the best new series overall. I know to some i might just be yet another cop drama with a “twist”, but it really is so more than that. There’s more to it, starting with obviously Charlie Crews, who is and makes the show.

(S01E05) I said it before but I feel the need to say it again, because we really need to let the word out, the world needs to know : despite it’s odd title, and its appearance of being just another cop drama with a twist, Life definitely is the best new series of this season. I don’t mean on NBC, but overall. I know many are in love with Pushing Daisies, and I agree it’s a pretty good one, but I believe this one is better.
It really is so much more than what it looks like, and the one thing that attracted to it in the first place, that keeps me coming back and makes the show what it is, is before everything else the writing. The writing on Life really is brilliant, and while the weekly stories might not be the greatest ones ever, they are good and allow us to dive more and more each time with all the characters, and every single character on that show is written with great accuracy and depth, much more than in most other shows.

(S01E06) I think this is the best new series of the season, and without question the one I enjoy and am looking forward to the most. I really hope NBC will give it a real chance, and that despite the WGA strike this one will get picked up and be able to find its audience.
Because obviously there’s one, and it seems that most of those who watch the show really appreciate how good it is and are quick to put Life on their favorite TV series top 5, if not on top of it. As I said, I myself wouldn’t call it the best series of the season, I do love House better than any other series, but it is the best of all new series for sure.

(S01E07) I’ve said in the past how this show was much more than just “another cop show with a twist”, as some may have been to quick to categorize it as. Yet while watching this episode I realized something, I might think of this show as a cop show with a twist, and I should really put the emphasize on twist.
What I mean by this, is that I see this show as a character-driven one, one where what’s most important is the characters and their personalities. Not to say stories don’t mind, and they come after. A little like on House, if you want.
Now why am I explaining this, you may ask, and why did I came to this realization only today. Let me explain…

(S01E08) So I’ve had a few problems this week, and I have a very full DVR at the moment, that I’m hoping to free as much as possible over the weekend. And of course of all the shows I had to watch first, before lats night’s shows or those I’ve been waiting for for a few days now, like Reaper, the very first one I had to watch had to be, quite obviously, Life.
It had to be this one, because I have always enjoyed each and every episode so far, and I’m convinced this is the best of all new series of this season, so I was glad to hear NBC was going to try and boost its audience, here’s to hoping that they will give this series a real fair chance, because it is a pretty great show and for what I’ve heard, all fans of the show really love it.

(S01E09) Should I mention again how I love this show - best new series of the season - and how glad I am NBC finally made their decision, and took the right one, picking up Life for one full season order ? Maybe not. So let’s move on directly into this episode. You know what, I think I need to say I really love that show, it’s just so good !
I really can’t recommend enough to anyone who thought this was only just another cop show (with a twist) to check it out, once again a brilliant episode, with a quality of writing like you don’t find everywhere else. This show is all about characters, well not “all” but mostly, and they are so incredibly well written it really feels like a blessing.
As illustrated this week, even second characters and those we’ll only meet once benefit from the same treatment of choice as Charlie does. It couldn’t be any better.

(S01E10) Well, so this once comes in a little late because I had some trouble, and I even feared for one moment that my recording might be missing ! After a few seconds of screaming and panicking, it all got better and I could finally sat down and watch this new episode of Life. It was a special episode because it was a two-parter, and obviously because the first part aired on a Monday, a way for NBC to try and introduce the show to a wider audience.
I’m not sure how it went, but I can tell you this : anyone not watching this show is missing on some great television ! Ever since the show started I never stopped saying how I loved it, and looking at things I don’t think I’ll ever stop. Really, you have to watch this one, there’s a reason it has been named “best new series of the season”. (Granted, I gave it that title based on my taste only, but still.)

(S01E11) This was the second dose of Life we were treated with this week, and that was a delight once again. The only bad news that came with this episode was that I’m afraid this might be the last one we’ll get to see in a while, and not only because of Christmas and the holidays…
But let’s not think about that for now, and focus on this new episode. Despite back on its usual time slot, this was once again a very special episode we got to see this time, but not only because it was the second part, continuing from Monday’s episode. No, the episode in itself was very unique and very “different” that pretty much every single episode of the show we got to see so far.
Not that this was a bad thing, though.
