(S02E01) Do you remember last season ? It was the great times when networks would cancel new series after only two episodes aired, because they didn’t give a shit about their shows or their viewers. Well, none if this changed, but now they don’t cancel anything, because they don’t have anything to cancel anymore.
But last season was also the season during which we’ve seen this CBS show about a little town having to survive after nuclear explosions hit America. No one knew what was happening everywhere else in the World, and they didn’t had time to worry too much about that : they needed to find ways to stay alive, and keep their town alive first. By the end of the season, it was obvious they weren’t too good at that : a very bad fight was just beginning with the town next door.
And then, after destroying the show by sabotaging the schedule, CBS simply canceled the show. Because they’re freaking morons.
Luckily fans didn’t let it slide, they all went “nuts” and CBS caved in, sort of. And now, we have a second season to enjoy. A very short one, as this season will only have seven episodes, but that’s a new season still.

Shows: Jericho
In Series: Jericho Season 2

(S02E02) Last episode was pretty special, if only because it was the first one of the new season, a season that was “not supposed to happen”, not according to CBS. But fans fought for it, because they love the show that much, and a mini-season of 7 episodes have eventually been ordered by CBS. That isn’t much, but it’s better than nothing - especially since there’s hope for a third season after wards. (Well, there would be if more people actually watched… Damnit people, tune in, this show is really good!)
In the mean time, the creative minds behind the show took care to cook some pretty great season to please the fans, and while I said last time that the show had a somewhat different “tone” to it, that things had evolved from the previous season, and that at first I was even “shocked”, almost not fully recognizing the show (okay that’s a bit much…), there’s no doubt that Jericho is back, fully back, stronger & better than ever!

Shows: Jericho
In Series: Jericho Season 2

(S02E03) You know, the more I watched this new season of Jericho, the more I think that what’s happening to the show, after its resurrection, to this new season, is a real shame. I’m sure many liked the show back in its first season, obviously, which is why fans went “nuts” and were even able to get CBS to bring it back for another season, as little as it may be.
And looking at what the writers & producers have done so far, you have to hand it to them : this season is really good, it’s actually (much) better than the first ! This is why it’s pretty sad to see the this new season doesn’t seem to be watched. Where are all the fans gone ? Why aren’t they watching ? Why does it feel like they’ve given up on the show hey brought back to life, and why do so when it’s better than ever before !!?

Shows: Jericho
In Series: Jericho Season 2
By fred | March 5, 2008
(S02E04) So this was the latest episode of that little show called Jericho, and with it I have to say that I’m starting to get more mixed feelings that I used to during the first episodes. No, I’m not saying this episode was bad or that I don’t like the show anymore, absolutely not. But my point is that I was pretty happy to hear that the show would get a second season after all, and when I saw the first couple of episodes, I was really excited about the whole thing because, well, the show looked stronger & better than ever.
Now that we’re four episodes in, I see worries kicking in regarding the overall thing, as well as problems I have with the way things are actually going down in Jericho. Sounds a little complicated like that, so I’ll try to explain what I mean here.

Shows: Jericho
In Series: Jericho Season 2

(S02E05) The clock is still running, and every time things get a lot more tense in Jericho and near-by. Things are about to explode, and given how the end (of the season, and of the series) is near it’s only understandable that every time we feel that any second now, everything will blow up. We have clearly enter the second half of the season now, so it only makes sense that things evolve.
And indeed, if we always knew we couldn’t and shouldn’t trust that new government or Ravenwood’s men, starting with Goetz, last week they went one step further as they attacked civilians and killed some.

Shows: Jericho
In Series: Jericho Season 2
By fred | March 19, 2008
(S02E06) We’re almost there, at the end of the journey for the little town of Jericho and its people, whose fate are now linked with the fate of the entire country, on less. Jericho has always been a very special town, and it’s not because its mayor ran away for undisclosed business that this was going to change. Everyone there is still very much involved in everything that’s going on, sort of.
And since next week will be the finale - question is, season or series finale ? - we are getting very close to some kind of resolution. Either way, we’ll get there. The question is, will they fail, or will there still be hope for success in a following season ? As far as I know, still no answer from CBS on that one, even though they keep referring to newt week’s episode as the season finale. Not that it means anything anyway…

Shows: Jericho
In Series: Jericho Season 2
By fred | March 26, 2008
(S02E07) If the fate of the town of Jericho is still in the hands of its people, there’s nothing that can save the show now. Last night was the very last episode of the show, the series finale. I don’t doubt that many fans will not be happy about this, thinking this is, as Jake once said, “nuts!” But the fact and the matter is, this is the end, and there’s no way CBS will ever bring it back.
But at least this time we knew before going in, and even more importantly this time producers & writers knew as well, and so they could write it as a series finale, instead of ending it on a cliffhanger with ideas of what would come next, only to never be able to make that happen. Thanks to the millions of fans who loved the show enough, and that maybe Nielsens refuses to see, we all got to enjoy a real finale for this great show, and that’s a great thing that, sadly, we don’t get to have for many (great) series.
