House: Frozen

House(S04E11) It doesn’t feel like the last time we saw House was so long ago, and it wasn’t really. We had one new episode last Tuesday, this Sunday we got an episode right after the Superbowl, and then this Tuesday guess what ? A new House is on, too ! Yeah, we’ve been missing the show for some time now, and suddenly it there, it’s all there, almost every day. The only problem with that is that Tuesday, this might be the last episode of the season.

Or not, should the strike end soon there could be hope for four or five more episodes, who knows?

So this episode was the one after the Superbowl, but it wasn’t really a “Superbowl special”, because if something special for the event was originally planned, and logically it would have been a two-parter with conclusion on Tuesday, this couldn’t happen due to the strike, and instead this episode, which hasn’t been written for the event but as a regular episode, was promoted to this special slot.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it was good, far from it. In its regular Tuesday slot House is always fantastic, why should this episode be any different ?

House: Don’t Ever Change

House(S04E12) I have very mixed feelings towards this episode. No, not about the episode itself, but about the fact that what we saw here might be the last episode of the season, due to the writers’ strike. Of course, it could not be the case, should things go as good as possible the strike might be over by next week, people back to work soon after that and there may be four or five more episodes added to the season. Or not. We’ll have to wait and see.

Either way, this was about the third episode in a week ! Last week we had the Christmas episode (nope, no mistake), just this Sunday after the Superbowl we had another episode, and here we are, with yet another new episode. Such a thing would usually please me very much, but with the ongoing strike I get mixed feelings, because even if things should be resolved very soon it’ll be weeks, if not months, before we get a new episode. In such a situation, maybe it’d have been better to spread the remaining episodes over a little longer period, rather than airing them all within a week or so.

Anyways, House might be gone for now, but he didn’t leave without another great episode !

House: No More Mr. Nice Guy

House(S04E13) It’s been way too long. Of course, we were help with the return of other shows in the mean time, and we could obsess over Lost, that always takes some time, but regardless it’s been way too long since we hadn’t had the pleasure of welcoming America’s favorite doctor on the air. So before everything else, this episode was the first one produced after the strike, it was the first we got to see in a too long time, for that only I think it was great.

Of course, that’s not enough and we need more to actually have a good time watching it. But this is House, and the show was never disappointing, they have a great bunch of characters and they know how to make the most of it. For the big return, they tackle some pretty good questions, and of course we had to deal with the perfect topic for the show, and House : can someone be too nice ?

House: Living The Dream

House(S04E14) House is not a medical drama. Well, yes of course it is a medical drama, one filled with humor so much that some could be tempted to call it a dramedy, but that’s not the point. The point is that while there is a medical drama going on in the back, we all know the show is character-driven, and likes to wander about philosophical questions regarding happiness, life after death, meaning of existence, and plenty more.

America’s most favorite doctor is back, and of course he’s not happy. He’s not, but more importantly he’s concerned about someone else. House likes to pretend that he doesn’t care, and that whether the patient lives or dies never really bothers him, because he’s in it for the puzzle and the puzzle only, but this week he cared, or did he?

House: House’s Head

House(S04E15) Alright, so I finally got a chance to sit back and watch last night’s episode of House, and I was expecting a lot from it. Many reasons for that, first it is House and I always expect a lot from this show, because it is that good. Second, I previously watched How I Met Your Mother, and as much as I love the show, the episode sucked, so I wanted to see something good now.

Finally, this was the season finale, well the first part of the season finale to be exact. It might not be as big of a deal as when it comes to, say, Lost, but it’s still something. All of that made for this episode to be a very special episode, no matter what, and one that would have had to be good for me to really like it.

House: Wilson’s Heart

House(S04E16) Another series ends its season, but this time it started one week ago. Last week we had the first part of this season finale, and it was a very special episode. While usually House is all about the medical mystery - well, when it comes to mystery at least - last week everything medical took a step down as we dived into the mysteries of memory.

Because there was a bus crash, and House had seen a symptom before the crash, he knew someone was sick, someone was dying, but couldn’t remember anything else further than that. So the biggest mystery had become House’s memory, and how to have it revealed who was dying. By the end of the episode we knew, and, sadly for Wilson, it was no other than Amber, once known as Cutthroat Bitch.
