(S04E01) I haven’t mention the return of the greatest show on TV, House, but I think I should say a few words about it. Not only because it’s House, and it was - as one could have expected - absolutely brilliant, but also because after expressing my fears about how the season might go, time to see whether or not it was justified.
Because as you know, last season ended with the complete team leaving House, and the hospital. Chase was fired, Cameron & Foreman resigned. And as much as I love them, I think my ideal choice would be for them not to come back. But they will, eventually. Which, as I told, is a stupid TV cliché, and I really wish House would have been above all that, and done better.
So let’s see how they actually did it.

Shows: House

(S04E02) After the brilliant episode of last week, which was the perfect and required set up so that House can actually start to look for a new team, this week we were expecting the search for replacements to start, and quite obviously it did.
And this occurred in a perfect House way, with all you could have been expecting from him, and some very interesting response from the candidates. As we saw last week, House did not go for only a few one, he wanted to have choices, to find the best suited for the jobs, and as such started with dozens of people willing to join the team.
Apart from the comedic aspect that would follow from such a large crowd, it was also a good way to remind us that there’s a reason House can get away with so many things : he is the very best, and plenty of doctors are willing to do anything so they get the chance to learn from him.

(S04E03) Serious things on the way. Well, that’s not right to say, because while the first episodes might have had a lot about House having to and starting to look for a new team, there were some pretty good serious cases already.
But along the way the number of potential newcomers to become the new team got more and more small, Cameron and Chase got reintroduced into the show/hospital, and so the actual case are now taking the most part of the show. The look-out for a new team is only a part of it, just like having to deal with Cuddy, it’s not a main or big thing anymore.

(S04E04) I don’t know how you guys feel about the new series so far, but while there are a few I really like, I haven’t found one series I’m really looking forward to each week. You know, that one series you’re counting down the days to the next episode, because each and everyone of them is just so awesome you really can’t wait.
So far I haven’t found that new series that will get me that way. But I wan live with that, because that doesn’t mean I’ve got no series to feel that way for. And while I can’t wait to see what the writers & producers of Lost have in store for us, I don’t even know if that show will get me more excited that House does. I really think this is the greatest show on TV, hands down.
I have fully enjoyed every single episode and I really am counting down the days until my next fix.

(S04E05) So here we go with another episode, where House is still figuring out which ones of the remaining doctors will be fired and which ones will become his new team, all that of course while treating patients. And this week, we got a pretty unusual and quite interesting case. To be fair, at some point I started questioning whether or not it was good, or just a “cheap” way to get some inside views of our aspiring team members.
But even if the case was good and there was also things to say about all of House’s staffers, ex or future, of course that’s not the main plot development of the week, no this week was also the “reintroduction” of Foreman to the show. So let’s start by talking about that.

Shows: House
In Series: House Season 4

(S04E06) There’s something that became obvious to me while I was watching this episode. In fact, quite early in the episode I came to the realization that, if the strike was to last for a while (and sadly it seems heading that way), this show is the one I’ll miss the most. Not that others aren’t good or that I don’t enjoy them, but not as much.
Actually, to be complete, I realize it’s those kind of shows that will be the most, the ones with such a great writing. There’s no question that it doesn’t do everything, or that Laurie’s performance isn’t fantastic, but it all comes down to the writing, every time, and the most irritating thing about this strike is that writers are pretty much only asking to be paid for their work, which doesn’t seem that extraordinary to me!
Anyways, I really love this show and I was really happy to get to enjoy another episode.

Shows: House
In Series: House Season 4

(S04E07) I’ve been experiencing some difficulties this week, and as a result my viewing of the latest episode of House had to be delayed, which really is not something I appreciated. I really missed the show, and I’m pretty sure this one is going to be on top of the list of shows I’ll mist the most once the strike will have turned TV into a box filled with void.
But let’s not think too much about this giant sword over our heads, not for now. Because now it’s the time - for me - to get my latest and much needed dose of House, still the greatest show on the air right now. Hands down.

(S04E08) It’s pretty much always the same with this show, for me. I’m always very excited when I know a new episode is coming, I can’t wait to get to see it because I know that whatever is going to happen during that hour will be yet another great moment of brilliant television. I may not know what will happen, what the case will be or anything, but I know - and, to be honest, I expect - that this will be a blissful moment.
I do feel that this is the greatest show on TV, and as such I do expect a lot from it every week. This for sure does put a lot of pressure on House and his team, because I’m pretty sure I would never be satisfied with a “more-than-okay” episode. Hell no, from House I expect a lot better than that, but the treat is that every time when I’m done watching, I feel like I got even more than I was hoping for.

Shows: House
In Series: House Season 4

(S04E09) Here we are, this was the last episode of House, ever. For this year. It will definitely be back sometime in January (or maybe later?), given they have about three more episodes in the can left for us before the strike sends us all into withdrawal.
This was a perfect episode to end this year, because as it turned out it also came with the conclusion of the main plot line that had been running ever since this season starter, and House had to give his final answer to Cuddy : who will be the member of his new team.
The decision wasn’t easy, there were smiles and there were tears, but a decision had to be made.

(S04E10) Finally!! Finally, after all this time we got to see our favorite Doctor back! Going to see the doctor isn’t usually fun, but when it’s House we’re talking about it couldn’t be any better. I couldn’t wait for a new episode, and I was so happy to see him and his team back I didn’t even mind that despite the first month on 2008 being almost over this was a Christmas-themed episode.
What I now realize troubles me a little if I think about it is the very sad news that now that we’ve seen this episode, there’s only two left. That’s right, we only have one episode coming right after the Superbowl this Sunday, and then next week a new - and, sadly, final - episode of the season.
But for now, let’s focus on how great it was to see House back, and how this episode went down.
