(S06E01) “This, is the story of Star Wars. Let’s begin with part four!”
Way to start a story, but I guess Peter isn’t to blame, I mean, Lucas did it that way first. And so began this episode of Family Guy, a Star Wars special episode. First of all, I’m not sure this is the best way to premiere your season, I mean, this episode was really different than any other episodes of Family Guy. But anyways, who cares, it’s not like things like “stories” even really matter on that show, right?
Well, let this one be the exception!

Seriously dude, what happened to cartoons this week ? I just watched both The Simpsons and Family Guy and the only thing I can think of now is, where are the funny cartoons, where is a cartoon not afraid to be daring and edgy, and most important, where is the cartoon that don’t forget to be hilarious.
In other words, where’s my beloved South Park ? Because let’s be honest, none of this week’s previously mentioned cartoons were funny.

(S06E03) Alright, so while I fully realize than this was the third episode of the season, I think it’s fair to say this was really the first episode where the show was, again, what it really is. And it felt great.
Sure the premiere was good, pretty funny stuff, but it also was all Star Wars. And last week, well, it wasn’t funny, or good, neither did it had the same touch, or construction. Instead of their usual cut-away references, it was one long and boring story.
Thankfully, this week’s episode was back on tracks!

Shows: Family Guy
In Series: Family Guy Season 6

(S06E04) This is it… the 100th episode of a show once canceled by the network, yet another proof that those guys don’t have a clue of what good television is. This is a “special” episode, at least we all expect it to be I think, and it has been made to be one. It even comes with another special “episode” right before it, in order to celebrate the occasion !
I like Family Guy, and I think so far this season we’ve had ups and downs, despite this only being the fourth episode. We started with a great Star Wars parody, then a lame and already forgotten episode, and last time we had a pretty good episode. And now, the 100th episode !

Shows: Family Guy
In Series: Family Guy Season 6

(S06E05) Well, last week we had the 100th episode of the show, and as I explained in my review, while I thought it wasn’t anything “special” really, as an episode of Family Guy it was a good one, and that might just be all there is to care about in the end.
It was good, but it didn’t end. It was only part 1. This week we had part 2, so after Stewie killed Lois we were to see how she would kill him. And because of the way the first part went, I didn’t expect anything special about this episode, anything else than being a good and funny half-hour of television.

(S06E06) So this episode was a very “special” episode because as it turns out, there is a writers’ strike going on at the moment. Yeah, shocking, I know, but it’ll made the news at some point, I guess.
Anyways, creator Seth MacFarlane is striking and as such he could not finish working on this episode, polishing it and making sure everything was as he wanted it to be. And while he said Fox has the legal right to go and air the episode anyways, he also whished they would not do what he referred to as a “a colossal dick move“. But they did, obviously.

Shows: Family Guy
In Series: Family Guy Season 6

(S06E07) Here we go with the second episode of Family Guy that creator Seth MacFarlane didn’t get to tweak and made final adjustment to before it was sent to the network, given that a strike is going on and the writers of this show, including MacFarlane, are picketing.
Last week, I thought we had a pretty disappointing episode. I’m not saying this was due to the absence of last minute tweaking - in fact, I doubt it was - but regardless the episode wasn’t really good, or funny. This week was better.

Shows: Family Guy
In Series: Family Guy Season 6

(S06E08) It’s been a while since we haven’t seen a new episode of Family Guy, a long while in fact. But Fox wasn’t fully done with the show yet, they still had one episode left for us, one last episode completed before the strike, even though the last tweaking were done without creator Seth McFarlane’s approval. This isn’t the first time, of course, as the last two episodes were done the same way, and quite frankly they weren’t all that hilarious (especially the first one of the two).
But I’m not sure that was (entirely) due to those last tweaking, and by that I mean I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. It was the plot, the jokes, they weren’t just that funny. What about this week ? Well, better. Much, much better !

(S06E09) I know! It’s been such a long time since we’ve had a new Family Guy to watch on Sunday, it’s like the season was over already, only it wasn’t. But now that the strike is over, we might get a few more episodes. I was really happy to see the show coming back, since I really like it and obviously I missed those Sunday laughs.
So I was awaiting this episode and, yes, I had expectations for it. Nothing too crazy though, just your regular expectations for a show like this one : I wanted it to be funny, I wanted to laugh my ass off for half an hour or so. I don’t know how you were before sitting in to watch it, but if you were like me, then I feel sorry for you, I really do.

Shows: Family Guy
In Series: Family Guy Season 6
By fred | March 3, 2008
(S06E10) It’s been a while since we saw a new Family Guy, and I was sure happy to get to see one ! This show, like so many others, has been away for our screens for a little while now, and I’ve missed it and the many laughs it usually generates.
For this little comeback, the show offered us a somewhat “special” episode. It wasn’t anything really new or that we hadn’t seen before, but this episode once again featured only a selection of characters, leaving others (almost) unseen, and also had one main story to make the entire episode. In the past, this is something that resulted in pretty awful results, and disappointing episodes. Thankfully, this time was different.
