(PreAir) …and “look” is all it’s got.
Chuck is a new NBC show described as a “comedic spy thriller”. Its premises are described as being about Chuck Bartowski, a computer geek who happens to be catapulted into a new career as nothing less than the government’s most vital secret agent, when he accidentally opens an e-mail that was subliminally encoded with government secrets, thus resulting in Chuck unwittingly downloading an entire server of sensitive data into his brain.
Yeah. Sounds bad, and it kinda is, only worse.

(S01E02) Well, I never tried to hide the fact that I basically hated this show, as I found it really not funny, and not at all saw it the way some people seem to do. That is, to me it is obvious they do take themselves quite seriously, I did not see - while watching the pilot - any clues that they were not taking it seriously, that it was all a joke, or a parody.
But that was the pilot, now we had a “real” episode, even though it was still in a form of introducing not stories, but plot ideas and characters interactions and how they were to react with each others. What’s the verdict now, did it change my opinion on it, was it able to pul it off, or not.

(S01E03) This is no news that I never liked this show. From the very start, I thought it was a pretentious unfunny obnoxious show that tried unsuccessfully to be funny while, as a parody according to some, re-using old cliché without any sign of such parodic elements. They were not making fun of [insert cliché here], they were not moking it, they were simply doing it.
I fail to see how it is funny. That’s for one. Second thing, the whole action thing. Not good. Reusing lame ideas over hollow plot cannot be an enjoyable thing, not done like that. Now add to this the basis of the show, which makes absolutely no sense at all, I can understand why ratings are dropping.
New week, new episode, I was still around.

(S01E04) I never liked this new series. Many people see the way they redo classic moves from James Bond’s and other spy movies as “parody”, or tribute, or something like that. Apparently, seeing a stupid cliché still done the same way, as lame and seriously done as always, suddenly becomes a great, cool, funny even, thing as soon as it’s done on Chuck.
I never got into that. Because there are no parodic elements anywhere on the show, because they do it all taking themselves quite seriously. I never see any sign of self-depreciation or second degree or anything close. I simply don’t see it.

As always during the week-end I’m trying to find enough time to watch all the episodes I didn’t get a chance to watch during the week. It’s not that easy, being the TVoholic than I am I do spend a lot of time on it, but I also watch an awful lot of shows. I still have many more to watch, but here are a few thoughts on My Name Is Earl, the season premiere Scrubs entering its very last season, a new Samantha Who? and Chuck.

(S01E06) Ok, time for my new rant about how Chuck sucks. Sure, I’ve been doing that every week pretty much since the show debuted, I actually started before that even, but it’s not my fault. I mean, it does suck.
Now you may ask, then, why in Hell am I still watching it! Well, let me tell you…. you know what, what kind of a question is that, anyway. The fact and the matter is, I really don’t enjoy watching it. It’s not really painful (err, actually…) but it’s definitely not fun either. Yet I do, I keep tuning in, again this week I watched a new episode. Why do it I it ? Well…

Yep, busy week end it was. I’m disappointed to see that there were no negotiation and that studio don’t even seem willing to go back and talk, every day it looks a little more like this strike is going to last, and that cannot be good. But at least we can support the writers and strike too, if we all do it things could go faster.
Anyways, this week-end I watched the latest episodes of Criminal Minds, Aliens In America, Samantha Who?, Chuck, My Name Is Earl and Scrubs. There were some very good things, others weren’t good, and some shows I’m just dropping completely.

(S01E08) Here we are, the moment we’ve all been waiting for for some time now. Well, at least I have, I can’t say every one of you were excited too about having Rachel Bilson making her guest-star debut on this little show.
But then again, you probably were just happy to get to see another episode of a show you like, while that wasn’t the was for me because I’ve never really liked this one, and every episode seems to remind me of this. Besides, for now, and for me, it might be too late. But I would still like to be surprised by the show.

(S01E09) So as you all may already know, I have never been a fan of this show, to say the least. But I decided to watch a few more episodes still because adorable Rachel Bilson was guest-starring, which is the reason I watched last week, and this week too.
Still that doesn’t change the very fact that I do not like this show that much, or at all even. I’m trying to open up and not expect to be disappointed by the show, I don’t want my overall feeling towards it to influence my experience and ruin it for me, I want to have a good time as I watch it. Still, they make that very hard for me to do, very, very hard. That’s what she said.
What!? No, wait, that’s not the show, that’s another show, a show I won’t get to see a new episode of for God knows how long, I’m sorry, withdrawal effects. So what if it hasn’t been a week already, I deal with my problems as fast as I want!

(S01E10) So you know how last week I said I didn’t really like the show, (or was it how I really didn’t like it?), and given that cutie Rachel Bilson was out I wouldn’t watch it no more. Well, funny thing happened: I watched it. Yeah, I don’t know what happened, habit I guess, or something, who cares the point is, I just watched this week’s episode.
I guess there’s those shows you watch but maybe don’t admit it, kind of a guilty pleasure, like Gossip Girl for instance. A show which, by the way, got better after a while I guess. It’s still not that great, but better than what I feared it would be after the first episodes. And you also have those shows you hate, but still watch them every week, it’s like you can’t help it. Maybe that’s what Chuck became for me, I don’t know, I thought that was Heroes.
