Running out of time? The year is slowly coming to an end, and with it television is like a tree losing its leaves, only it’s our beloved TV shows that are disappearing, leaving our screens empty. It’s always a sad but required period of time when there simply isn’t as much stuff on TV as there used to be, but just to make things more fun (or something like that) not every show airs up to the same date/week and leaves at the same time.

If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering which shows are already gone for this year, and when are the others going to leave us, and this is why I went on to collect such information about quite a few shows and put it all in one place. Now, you can have a quick look at the updated list below, and see if your favorite show has some episodes left for 2008, and if so how many and when they will air.

Thursday’s Numbers [12.11.2008]

NumbersOf course last night saw a major success for CSI, not so much because Laurence Fishburne joined, but because he did while there wasn’t the usual competition from the medial hit of ABC. As a result the show was easily the most-watched program, both in total viewers as well as on the demo.

One hour earlier, Survivor had its usual first place (with 13.24 million viewers) while My Name Is Earl used the absence of a new Ugly Betty to go up half a million viewers (7.62 million, 2.7 on the demo), making it the number 2 program of the slot, which is sad really, that the second most-watched program of the hour couldn’t even reach 7 million viewers…

Lauren GrahamHere’s a little news guaranteed to make you smile : the lovely Lorelai Gilmore Lauren Graham is coming back to our little screens !

ABC ordered a pilot of a new untitled half-hour comedy project about a self-help guru, played by Lauren Graham, who teaches other women how to live a stress-free life but fails to follow her own teachings when her boyfriend dumps her.

From Sony Picture, the pilot episode is written by Alex Herchlag (Will & Grace), who will also be executive produced alongside Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, Mitch Hurwitz and Lauren Graham herself.

If the project is greenlighted, it will be Graham first series-regular role since Gilmore Girls signed off in May 2007.

Eleventh Hour: Flesh

Eleventh Hour(S01E09) The year is ending, Christmas is around the corner, so for the last episode of 2008 it’s only normal that Hood and Young got to have their latest case in Daytona for Spring Break. Not a lot of snow, but - in their own sick way - a lot of cold. One thing this show has been doing ever since it premiered is to improve, it’s gotten better.

In fact, it’s gotten much better, and even though this episode was far from perfect, it was a pretty good hour of entertainment and, I think, probably the strongest episode of the show yet. This can only mean we’re on some even better things next year, and I can’t wait to find out what creepy weird scientific case they have in store for 2009 — but for now, Spring Break.

30 Rock: Christmas Special

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | December 12, 2008

30 Rock(S03E06) I have to say, I got worried for a moment here when this episode started. Last week was a good episode, but it was also still one away from the studio, the TGS show and as a result, the writing room and all those characters we have seen so little of this season. And this week, for a moment there I thought this episode was heading the same way, that plotlines would again draw some people away from 30 rock.

Thank God it didn’t last though, and soon everyone was back at work and we had an episode that looked like what they all used to look like back in the days, but that none of the episodes this season ever did, an episode set mostly at NBC, and actually involving some of the behind-the-scenes of the show within the show. I’ve missed that about ever since the season premiered, so I was really happy if only for that.

The Office: Moroccan Christmas

The Office(S05E10) For its last episode of 2008, The Office offered us a Christmas special episode, and I’m not exactly sure how I feel about it. It’s a very mixed bag of emotions I have for it right now, with on the one hand lots of things I did like and I thought were great, and really funny, and on the other hand an overall impression that it was missing the usual level of hilarity I’ve gotten used to expect from this show.

Looking at what went down this episode at Dunder-Mifflin, I guess it was all exactly what you would expect. We all know those people can be a little crazy, each in their own way, and they really only acted as you’d think they would, no one really went crazy over the line or out of character, it all was the sort of things they would do, but the thing is, that doesn’t make it right, or funny.
