Strike Update : How will you favorite shows be affected ?

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 25, 2007

I’ve done it before, but today seems a good time to make a new update, given how a few shows have already ran out of episodes and we all pray that tomorrow writers & studios will be able to get closer and closer to an agreement.

Again you will have a first chart with as many series as I could get info about, and for each of them how many episodes already aired, how many should be done and waiting in the can (written & produced), and what we all care about, how many are left - as of today, 11/25/07. I’ve also added how many episodes have been ordered.

Criminal Mind: Penelope

Criminal Minds(S03E09) Things are a but slow these days, and still it took me a while to watch that show. I actually didn’t even think of watching in right when I first could, so used to let it sit on my DVR and watch it during the weekend. Then it took me a little longer than usual, but I now did and I’m sure glad I did.

This episode was about a story we were introduced last week already, and last week I gave my thoughts about what we got to see then. And it wasn’t really good, because that was pretty much everything I didn’t like so much during that episode. But last week was only an introduction and it didn’t tell much about what was going on, besides that obviously the whole team would stop everything to find who attacked one of their own.

Friday’s Numbers

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 24, 2007

This was pretty much a Friday like any other, with a clear victory from CBS, a good night for The CW while Fox is trying to exists.

At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer did pretty much as good as last week, little less viewers but a little improvement on the 18-49 so it’s all good. Meanwhile the movie Family Man on NBC started well putting the network on the second spot, beating Men In Trees on ABC by almost a million viewers.

And once again, The CW’s Friday Night Smackdown performed well and put Fox’s The Next Great American Band to dead last, as every Friday.

Thursday’s Numbers

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 23, 2007

It was Slapsgiving Thanksgiving night, and so not surprisingly less people were watching TV. Which brings up the question, in those times of strike why did ABC and CBS burn new episodes tonight, especially of series that usually do very well ? Let’s be optimistic and see that as a sign that they believe the strike will all be over soon.

Both CSI and Grey’s Anatomy didn’t performed as good as they’re used to, far from it. (Although the DVR results will probably give both of them, and especially Grey, a big boost.) Once again CSI had more viewers but Grey’s Anatomy took over the 18-49 demo. CSI lost 6.7 million viewers compared to last week, while Grey’s Anatomy lost “only” 5.4 million of them.

Tonight On TV

 * One again, tonight only the two big networks, ABC and CBS, have kept their series on the air. Others are going for movies…

* There’s not much left, besides a new Grey’s Anatomy on ABC on 9.00

* CBS has its usual night, with a new CSI at 9.00 followed by a new Without A Trace

* I’m also going to mention that October Road’s second season is actually premiering tonight at 10.00 on ABC, and it’s been done so that it should last its full season of 13 episodes !

Wednesday’s Numbers

There was pretty much only two networks with new content on Wednesday, ABC and CBS. Others aired either reruns or reality TV. Yet ABC had a tough night, and was not only beaten by CBS, winner of the night in both viewers and on the 18-49 demo, but also by Fox.

Less viewers than usual in front of their TV, and the first shows to suffer was Pushing Daisies watched by 1.3 million viewers less than last week. Not to worry though, it still came in first in its timeslot, both in viewers and amongst the 18-49 adults. Fox only had reruns at both 8.00 and 8.30, allowing NBC and their crap to move up and take the third place, behind CBS, whose Kid Nation did almost as well as last week.

Support The Writers: Send Pencils!

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 22, 2007

Now is the time to save ALL our shows. MAIL PENCILS pencils to the AMPTP and to any studios whose shows you enjoy…
Maybe we can help the studios see just how much support the WGA has. And maybe, just maybe, we can give them a graceful way out - not because they’re buckling under the writers’ demands, but because they care so much about their audience. Us. And isn’t that supposed to be their job?
– Nikki Finke

Here’s a little video that explains how you can use pencils to make a difference :

A few words from Hayden Panettiere and Kristen Bell

Here’s a little interview with Hayden Panettiere and Kristen Bell, talking of course about Heroes. The most fun of this whole video are the first seconds of it though, before the interview actually begins. We get to see the two beauties having a little fun before falling into interview mode, and that’s always nice.

Pushing Daisies: Smell Of Success

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 22, 2007

Pushing Daisies(S01E07) It’s Thanksgiving week and as a result many shows just vanished, because in those times of strike networks are not willing to burn new episodes too fast, especially when chances are there will be less viewers than usual. And despite having no more than three episodes left, ABC still decided to offer us a fresh new pie this week, and I am really thankful for that.

While it is not my personal favorite new series of the season (Life beat it to it), Pushing Daisies is without a doubt a very nice new series and the sweetest one of all. I may not like everything about it, but I sure love most of it - and overall I really do enjoy it every time.
