Shrek did wonders for ABC, being the most watched show of the night and pulled some impressive numbers on the 18-49 demo (7.2), putting itself up there with the House and other Grey’s Anatomy. ABC wasn’t the most watched network of the night, CBS took the lead by not much, but it was a clear winner on the 18-49 demo.
At 8.00 Shrek The Halls was the most watched show, and The Grinch only lost two of the 21.1 million viewers in front of ABC. The only series to air so early was ‘Til Death and it did worked good for Fox, loosing 1.4 million viewers compared to two weeks ago, hitting a series low.
One hour later Criminal Minds won the slot and gained half a million viewers over last week, hitting a new series high. Meanwhile Pushing Daisies, airing one hour later than usual and helped by a very strong lead-in, was watched by 10.2 million viewers, being the third highest rating ever, and second best on the 18-49 demo.
At the same time on NBC Bionic Woman might have been competing against Pushing Daisies instead of Private Practice, and had a much stronger lead-in (9 million viewers for Christmas In Rockefeller Center, against 6.2 million for Phenomenon two weeks ago) yet it still hit a new series low with 6 million viewers.
On The CW Gossip Girl still won a few viewers.
At 10.00 Dirty Sexy Money gained about 600 000 viewers but still lost one million compared to two weeks ago. On NBC, the recently picked up Life still grew over its lead-in.
