Wednesday’s Numbers

What to say about last night ? It pretty much went down you’d expect, and as it did last week. It might, American Idol performed quite lesser than a week ago, down from over 24 to “only” 18 million viewers. That’s 6 million less viewers, but that was obviously still enough to be number one.
And, because it lasted two hours instead of one, and because Moment Of Truth barely reached 10 million viewers last week, Fox averaged about the same overnight, in fact, it did a little better actually (17.2 million vs 17.6 million).
At 9.00 Idol had almost one million more viewers than one hour earlier, but as I said still 6 million less than one week ago. Meanwhile Criminal Minds did grew a little from last week, with 300 000 more viewers (13.1 million). Oddly enough, though, it went down on the demo (3.4 vs 3.3) It was the opposite for the rerun of Law & Order: Criminal Intent on NBC, down by 100 000 viewers yet performing better on the demo (1.5 vs 1.4) Go figure.
At 10.00 CSI: New-York didn’t do bad, with 12.2 million viewers, but that’s 600 000 less viewers than last week, and also last week it had retained pretty much all of the audience of its lead-in, while this time almost a million of them went away. The show used to do better, and so did its lead-in. Of course, back then Criminal Mind didn’t have to face Idol, while tonight CSI: New-York had no strong competition.
