Wednesday’s Numbers

By fred | March 13, 2008

Last night was a little less good for Fox, and a little less horrible for other networks. Still, Fox averaged the night at 18.5 million viewers while its nearest competitor, NBC, couldn’t reach 10 million viewers (9.9 million).

For once Fox didn’t open with American Idol, instead they had Moment Of Truth. No big lead-in for the game, but that didn’t prevent it from performing quite good, wining the slot with 10.4 million viewers, and 4.2 on the demo. Deal Or No Deal on NBC was quite close, only 200 000 viewers less, but much lower on the demo (2.5) Other unscripted programs were all much lower.

At 9.00 Idol was on, and it’s no surprise that it was the most-watched program of the night, with 26.6 million viewers. Coming next was Law & Order: Criminal Intent with only 7.9 million viewers. NBC switched the drama and his game back to their original slots, and it was much better.

Just just for them, but for Law & Order also, once again above 10 million with 11.7 million viewers. It’s growing nicely from its lead-in, but it doesn’t do so and stays below the 10 million viewers with Deal Or No Deal as lead-in… it’s like numbers aren’t everything, go figure!

Meanwhile on ABC was a new Men In Trees, but it still doesn’t perform so good with only 5.6 million viewers. Shall be noted though than the show only lost 100 000 viewers since last week, whereas lead-in Supernanny lost 1.2 million of them ! So looks like there are 5.6 million fans of Men In Trees who will always be there, no matter what. And maybe with a better lead-in the show could do even better…
