Wednesday’s Numbers

A night quite like the one before : Fox doesn’t need anything else but American Idol to win the night, both in total viewers as well as on the demo. They don’t need anything else, but they do have something on, still. I’m pretty sure it could be anything, and it would get at least over 10 million viewers. Which is what Back To You did once again, with 12.3 million viewers (of close to 30 million of them watching the last half-hour of Idol… bad retention there).
Other than that, at 9.00 there isn’t much to say, except than Law & Order: Criminal Intent performed a little better than last week (8.3 million vs 7.7 million last week), yet lost the second place of the slot to become next to last, because both a rerun of Criminal Minds (up 1.1 million viewers) on CBS and Supernanny (up 2.4 million viewers) on ABC performed (much) better.
At 10.00 was the come back of Men In Trees, last seen in December (then on Fridays at 8.00) and it wasn’t so good, with 5.7 million viewers only, loosing 2.7 million viewers from its lead-in and down 300 000 viewers from its last episode (6 million viewers on Friday, December 7th). Sure, Cashmere Mafia only had 4.8 million viewers last week, but that show got canceled (or will be soon)…
