Tuesday’s Numbers

By fred | January 9, 2008

Thanks to Law & Order: SVU, NBC was the clear winner of the night. ABC on the other hand, is sinking deeper and deeper. Yet, it was a good night for reruns, if they weren’t on ABC that is.

At 8.00 while the rerun of NCIS won it slot the return on One Tree Hill on The CW did good, with 3.4 million viewers. An hour later, rerun still dominated the slot. This time Fox came first in total viewers, thanks to the repeat of the pilot of their medical hit-drama, House, with 10.8 million viewers.

On The CW, One Tree Hill grew on itself and had its second episode to even beat ABC and their new episode of Carpoolers by about 100 000 viewers (3.6 vs 3.5 million).

Meanwhile, CBS had their “strike-proof” version of the People’s Choice Awards, a show without an actual show, with nothing but clips. No excitement, and as a result no viewers. While the show, which lasted for two hours, scored about 6 million viewers for the two hours - which ain’t good, after starting with almost 8 million in its first hour, it actually finished closer to 4.5

Not good. If things don’t get settled for the Oscars, it’s gonna be ugly.

At 10.00 nothing could stop Law & Order: SVU, which scored a season-high with no less than 15.2 million viewers (and 5.1 on the 18-49 demo). To be fair, the competition was pretty lame, with the non-show of the PCA on CBS, and a repeat of Cashmere Mafia, which hadn’t done good for its premiere after Desperate Housewives, and this time after Carpoolers for a lead-in, well, no surprise it was the less watched program of the whole night.

As always, all numbers of the night below :
