Tuesday’s Numbers

Not much to talk about when it comes to last night, except of course for 90210. It was the big new (re-)launch for The CW, and it was even bigger than Gossip Girl, because that one zip code is said to be the show that will save the network, or seal its fate.
And based on the two-hour series premiere, The CW isn’t entering its last season : after a success with the return of Gossip Girl last night and 3.4 million viewers, 90210 was even more mind-blowing, averaging close to 5 million viewers during the two hours if its series premiere, and a shinning 2.6 on the demo !
Even better is how 90210 managed to gain viewers into its second hour, from 4.7 million to 5.1 million viewers, and while it wasn’t the number one show in the demo, it was enough to bring The CW on top for the night !
Obviously, The CW is more than happy with those numbers.

So it’s all good everywhere. Now the real question will be to know how many of them will be back ? And of course how the show is going to do once brand new episodes of House are opposing it on Fox ? (or before that, next week when Fringe makes its big debut?)
For the record, The CW is almost dying from joy-overdose over the close to 5 million viewers for 90210, but last night on TNT, the awful Raising The Bar had close to 3 million more viewers.
