Tuesday’s Numbers [11.25.2008]

Some changes for the usual Tuesday night last night. For one, CBS did not win the night, ABC did, as the Alphabet averaged 2.6 million more viewers than CBS. But ABC didn’t stop there, because they also took the demo from Fox — not by much (4.5 vs 4.4) but still. Yes, with Dancing With The Stars Finale ABC had a great night, as the show was the most-watched program of the night, beating NCIS in viewers or House on the demo (though not opposing either).
At 8.00 things were as usual though, NCIS winning the slot in viewers with 18.16 million viewers (+150 000) vs 12.49 million for House (-500 000), but the medical hit-drama won the demo with a 5.1 (3.7 for NCIS). The really bad news of the night for Fox was Fringe, dropping to a series low with only 8.73 million viewers, 3.9 on the demo.
Worse is that, as you know, House actually run about 8 minutes after 9.00 so those numbers for Fringe will drop, as one can see by looking at the half-hour details : 10.16 million viewers and 4.4 on the demo at 9.00 but only 7.29 million and 3.3 on the demo left at 9.30 — Fringe is clearly in trouble, thank God the Idol boost is coming up…
Meanwhile The Mentalist hold on strong, slightly up with 15.90 million viewers and a 3.6 on the demo.
At 10.00 Dancing was all out with 22.08 million viewers and 5.7 on the demo (way up the 7 million viewers (2.0 on the demo) Eli Stone usually get, when it can go that high), so logically both Without A Trace (-1.4 million) and Law & Order: SVU (-1.6 million) took a hit, scoring new season lows with respectively 10.37 million viewers (2.5 on the demo) and 8.55 million viewers (3.2 on the demo).
