Tuesday’s Numbers [11.18.2008]
By fred | November 19, 2008
Typical Tuesday night, where CBS wins the night in viewers while Fox takes the demo, and it’s also one rare night where NBC get to do well, as least on the demo. The Peacock might be the only net (with The CW) not to reach 10 million viewers (8.62 million), yet it averaged 3.4 on the demo, coming second to Fox 4.8 and thus beating CBS (3.2) For the record, ABC tanked with a 2.7, which is actually better than last week…
At 8.00 we had the two winners : NCIS most-watched program with 17.98 million viewers, while House “only” had 13.03 million of them (+100 00) and yet won the demo with a nice 5.5 — compared to a pale 3.5 for NCIS. All the while 90210 on The CW went up 200 000 viewers and close to 3 million again, though not quite there yet (2.94 million, 1.6)
At 9.00 The Mentalist didn’t beat Dancing With The Stars, but with 15.83 million viewers and a 3.5 on the demo it remains a very good result. And as always, while Fringe only kept 9.36 million viewers on Fox, if still won the demo for the slot, beating the 17.50 million viewers of Dancing (4.2 vs 4.0) For the record, The Mentalist while second in viewers only came fourth on the demo, as The Biggest Loser on NBC scored a 3.6
Meanwhile on The CW bad news, Privileged went down with only 1.58 million viewers and 0.8 on the demo, which really isn’t good. Let’s hope it’ll do much better while airing on Mondays after Gossip Girl, because the show deserves a full season pick up.
At 10.00 Law & Order: SVU was up and above 10 million viewers (10.18 million) and a 3.8 on the demo, a new season high, way ahead of Without A Trace (2.6) despite having 11.86 million viewers. Sadly, on ABC things weren’t any good as Eli Stone didn’t even reach 7 million viewers (6.87 million) and went below 2.0 on the demo (1.8)
Retention for Eli Stone out of the last half-hour of Dancing With The Stars (17.70 million, 4.1) was only 39% in viewers and 44% on the demo, so it’s safe to say the show won’t get a back nice order, the question might even be whether or not all ordered episodes will get to air… let’s hope so.
