Thursday’s Numbers
By fred | May 9, 2008
Not much change on this Thursday since last week : CBS win the night and is getting a little closer to ABC on the demo, who remains a winner, all that while both Fox and NBC are loosing viewers.
At 8.00 CBS clearly won with a new Survivor, while Ugly Betty was still around 8.0 million viewers. But since Fox’s game lost 600 000 viewers, Betty took the second spot at that time. On NBC things weren’t too good lats night, My Name Is Earl loosing 700 000 viewers while for its very last episode on NBC, Scrubs lost 500 000 viewers. Of course, the fact that this episode wasn’t really great, and that NBC messed with the show one last time to prove they’re idiots who really don’t care about their shows or viewers might have helped…
Meanwhile on The CW Smallville was up by 400 000 viewers, reaching once again the 4.0 million viewers. It used to get one million more viewers than that not so long ago, and chances are it will get one million less next season, if not worse.
At 9.00 it was a special episode of CSI : one written by the Two And A Half Men writers. But that didn’t really do anything, the show getting pretty much the exact same results than a week ago (17.8 million, 4.9 on the demo vs 17.8 million and 5.0 last week). Grey’s Anatomy on the other hand grew by half a million viewers and up to 6.1 on the demo, best score on the night as usual, just like CSI was the most-watched program of the night.
On NBC it was the same for The Office as for its lead-ins : less viewers, half a million less. At 9.30 and for its season finale 30 Rock was the exception with 200 000 more viewers than a week ago, though it was down on the demo from 2.6 to 2.1
Meanwhile Supernatural was having one great episode on The CW, and it performed exactly like last week, 2.5 million viewers and 1.0 on the demo. It’s not the best, and the show really is great and deserves much more. No worries though, a fourth season has already been ordered.
Finally at 10.00 it was as expected, with Without A Trace winning the slot (14.6 million viewers), growing by 1.7 million viewers, while Lost came first on the demo with 4.9, getting more viewers as well (200 000 more, up to 11.3 million) for another fantastic episode.
On NBC, it was still going down with E.R. loosing 100 000 viewers and going below the 3.0 on the demo. Definitely not a good night for NBC.
