Thursday’s Numbers

By fred | November 23, 2007

It was Slapsgiving Thanksgiving night, and so not surprisingly less people were watching TV. Which brings up the question, in those times of strike why did ABC and CBS burn new episodes tonight, especially of series that usually do very well ? Let’s be optimistic and see that as a sign that they believe the strike will all be over soon.

Both CSI and Grey’s Anatomy didn’t performed as good as they’re used to, far from it. (Although the DVR results will probably give both of them, and especially Grey, a big boost.) Once again CSI had more viewers but Grey’s Anatomy took over the 18-49 demo. CSI lost 6.7 million viewers compared to last week, while Grey’s Anatomy lost “only” 5.4 million of them.

Grey was also far from its usual impressive score amongst adults 18-49, dropping from 8.1 last week to 5.0 this time.

One hour later Without A Trace only lost 2 million viewers, while the second season’s premiere of October Road didn’t do very well, not helped by coming after the season low, and maybe series low, of its usually so strong lead-in. Not only did it came in third after The Incredibles, which ended their last half-hour on NBC with over 8 millions viewers, but it also lost many viewers during its second half-hour, going from 7.3 to 5.4 million viewers.

As always, all the results are right below in a nice chart :
