Thursday’s Numbers

By fred | March 14, 2008

Special night last night, because Fox didn’t have no American Idol on, and instantly lost its mega-winner status. CBS was the most-watched program of the night, thanks to Survivor and some solid reruns.

At 8.00 CBS had Survivor, most-watched program of the night with 13.1 million viewers. Fox and its Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? was way behind, with only 9.3 million viewers. Back with new episodes was Smallville, and it did as good as you could expect, and the recent episodes did, with 3.8 million viewers.

At 9.00 the Alphabet took the lead again, Lost winning its slot though not by much : only 400 000 more people watched ABC hit-drama than did a rerun of CSI on CBS. Lost was still the best performer of the night in the demo, but there was 1 million less people watching this episode than were last week’s. Meanwhile on The CW another show was making its comeback, and Reaper didn’t do so bad.

Sure it lost one million from its lead-in, but opposed to Lost and a strong repeat on CBS, and after a very long break, which for a newcomer can be a really though thing - see JerichoReaper still managed to do one of its best score and get a little more viewers than previous episodes averaged at, with 2.8 million viewers.

And at 10.00 it’s about the same again, with Eli Stone widely beaten by a rerun of Without A Trace but performing slightly better on the demo - and loosing far less viewers than Lost did (200 000 viewers).
