Thursday’s Numbers

Another night with American Idol on, another win for Fox. It’s getting boring at this point now, so let’s move on. I’ll skip the 8.00 slot too cause there was nothing on then.
At 9.00 it was what we all care about : Lost. And facing ABC hit-drama was the second episode of Fox latest drama, New Amsterdam, which once again had no less than Idol as lead-in, the most-watched program on the night hands down, and the winner is… drumroll… Lost !!
Lost numbers are somewhat of a “constant”, being pretty much exactly as last week with 12.9 million viewers and a nice 5.4 on the demo. If that’s the new average for this season, I’m sure ABC will love it. Meanwhile New Amsterdam was dropping to 10.6 million viewers, loosing close to 10 million viewers from its lead-in ! Yep, that’s bad.
New Amsterdam also lost over 3 million viewers since its pilot two days ago. Its retention wasn’t really good for the pilot (48.6%), this time it was even worse (40.5%). Not only that but it lost 3 million viewers between its first and second half hour (12.0 M - 9.1 M). Not looking good.
At 10.00 Eli Stone followed the path of its lead-in and performed about the same as last week, with 7.5 million viewers. Still to note that it actually lost 1.5 million viewers in its second half (8.3 M - 6.8 M) Meanwhile the rerun of Without A Trace performed much lesser than last week, still wining the slot but loosing its first place on the demo, leaving the spit for no other than Eli Stone (2.6 vs 2.4)
