Thursday’s Numbers [11.13.2008]

Last night had CBS winning the night both in viewers (14.55 million) and on the demo (4.1) thanks to an ever well-performing CSI, most-watched program of the night, while ABC came in second (11.24 million viewers, 3.9) with many thanks to Grey’s Anatomy, winner on the demo.
At 8.00 200 000 more viewers where there for Ugly Betty, with 9.20 million and a 2.8 on the demo, while My Name Is Earl finally (almost) reached 7 million viewers (6.99 million), something that hadn’t happen since October 9th ! The show was up, thus making the horrible Kath & Kim look ever worse, as the show only kept 5.08 million viewers on NBC (half a million less than a week ago). I’m sure NBC is happy that picked it up for a full season…
On The CW after a boost last week Smallville was back to more average results, with 4.38 million viewers and 1.7 on the demo. That led into another great episode of Supernatural, up to 3.91 million viewers and 1.6 on the demo. That’s 200 000 more viewers than last week, but in New-York the show was pre-empted (New York Jets vs. New England Patriots aired instead) so expect final numbers will to go down.
As usual CSI was the winner in viewers (18.93 million vs 15.59 million viewers) while Grey’s Anatomy won the demo (5.9 vs 5.1) The medical drama was pretty stable, while CSI went up 800 000 viewers - while remaining stable on the demo.
On NBC The Office was losing 200 000 viewers with 8.18 million of them (4.0 on the demo), but I’m sure with a better lead-in it could do better. Anyways, that led into a new 30 Rock which continued to go down, half a million less viewers than a week ago. Still a pretty good retention (92%) with 7.51 million viewers and 3.6 on the demo (90% retention).
Finally at 10.00 on NBC, E.R. welcomed back a few know faces for the Marc Greene episode, giving the show its new season high with 9.80 million viewers. The show also won the slot on the demo with a 3.7 — although with half a million less viewers, the second episode of the season had scored a 4.0 on October 9th.
On CBS Eleventh Hour was up 700 000 viewers with 11.69 million viewers and a 3.1 on the demo, while Life On Mars remained stable and came in last, with only 8.94 million viewers and 2.9 on the demo.
