Thursday’s Numbers
By fred | February 1, 2008
Yes, last night numbers are in. An indication of how it went ? What if I told you that ABC did something they hadn’t done in quite some time now : they won the night ! Both in total viewers and on the 18-49 demo, the Alphabet was leader. And yes, of course, they have Lost to thank for that.
And Lost did pretty well, starting at 8.00 for the usual recap, watched by over 13 million people and winning its slot both in total viewers and on the demo. One hour later it was time for the long awaited season premiere, and ABC again came before every other network with over 16 million viewers and a very strong 6.7 on the demo for Lost !
A very good start for Lost, and ABC win the first night of February Sweeps. Of course, with the Superbowl coming, followed by an episode of House, things will change.
Apart from Lost last night was also the series premiere of Eli Stone, and it did quite well (11.6 million). It’s really good, and much like its lead-in, Eli Stone came first on its slot both in total viewers and on the demo.
Let’s mention Smallville and Supernatural, both returning last night with new episodes, and both did pretty much as good as they did around Christmas, which is pretty good given that they were opposing Lost !
