Sunday’s Numbers
By fred | January 7, 2008
CBS had a pretty huge victory last night, mainly thanks to the football, which dragged on 45 minutes too long and get all the results so day pretty complicated.
With a very strong lead-in as the football game, which had no less than 28.1 million viewers at 7.00, CBS’ night was pretty strong all the way through, and The Eye won the night averaging 15.3 million, tying first on the 18-49 demo with ABC (4.5) ABC had no big football lead-in, but the return of Desperate Housewives, which shined for the last time this season, bringing 19.8 millions viewers to the Alphabet and a nice 7.2 on the 18-49 demo.
At 8.00 The Simpsons didn’t start 2008 in the best way possible, down to 8.2 million viewers after ending last year with over 10 million viewers. Meanwhile, the competition was big with 17.9 million viewers in front of 60 Minutes, and 12.7 million watching ABC’s extreme crap.
At 9.00 Desperate Housewives was close to 20 million viewers again, though it did not get them this time (19.8 million), and lead-out Cashmere Mafia started not too bad, and not so good, (quite as the episode was,) with 10.7 million viewers sticking around. We’ll also have to wait to see how many are actually going to come back.
On CBS, the new episode of Cold Case didn’t seem to have done well, with around 10 and a half million viewers only, but it did started around 9.45 which sure didn’t help.
