Sunday’s Numbers
By fred | December 10, 2007
Again there was not much new this Sunday, and if ABC had nothing CBS still had new episodes of both Cold Case and Shark, and so it logically won the night. What football? Oh yeah, results (estimates) are all suspected to change given how football went half an hour overhead on CBS, so things are shaky…
Football really isn’t nice with Cold Case. Two weeks ago the show aired one hour later and lost 2 millions viewers, and this time it only had half an hour a delay yet lost again one more million viewers ! The last episode of the year didn’t do too well, hitting a seasons low at 11.2 million viewers.
Shark got a 9.0 million viewers reported, but that’s only for its first half hour, given how it started at 10.30, so nothing can really be said here.
On ABC the special made-for-TV movie, Oprah Winfrey Presents Mitch Albom’s For One More Day, didn’t do bad although it’s no Desperate Housewives and their 20 millions (12.5 million). As usual NBC and their Sunday Night Football performed well, coming second with 11.3 million viewers, and stronger results on the 18-49 demo (4.5 vs 3.2)
On Fox, I’m not sure it’s good that their comedy night did better with repeats than new episodes. Both The Simpsons and Family Guy were on rerun mode, and still performed better than their lead-out King Of The Hill and American Dad, despite having new episodes.
