Sunday’s Numbers

As I said last week, Sundays aren’t what they used to be, and for a few weeks now there simply isn’t one network that could reach 10 million viewers on average overnight. Sundays used to be a big night for TV, but nowadays they’re barely better than Fridays…
Please note that the NCAA run overtime on CBS, so all numbers for CBS were estimated. (That is, even more than Nielsens’ numbers usually are.)
Once again ABC won the night, thanks to most-watched program of the night Extreme Makeover (11.1 million viewers). This time another program want over the 10 million viewers, 10.3 million for 60 minutes on CBS. (Or, the end of the NCAA of course…) Meanwhile over at The CW people should really question their “great idea” to move the comedies to Sunday nights, as they couldn’t even get one million viewers.
Among their animated rerun, Fox burned two episodes of Unhitched this week, one at 8.30 and one at 9.30, and none of them did any good. Series low for the new series, with only 3 million viewers (and a low 1.5 on the demo). Needless to say, next week’s episode is the series finale.
