Sunday’s Numbers [11.02.2008]
By fred | November 3, 2008
Last was one as you don’t see often these days : thanks to its Sunday Night Football NBC managed to be the most-watched network of the night, coming close second to Fox on the demo (4.5 vs 4.9), all that while being the less watched network, not counting The CW of course. Because Fox still had 10.74 million viewers, while The CW couldn’t get one (0.75 million).
On Fox The Simpsons had a season high for their Treehouse of Horror with 12.48 million viewers and no less than a 6.2 on the demo ! The Simpsons was the number 1 program of the night on the demo (yes, beating Football and Desperate Housewives), now when was the last time the show performed that good ?? And quite frankly, this is absolutely not deserved one bit, that episode was a real bore and not funny once…
King Of The Hill used the boost from its lead-in to get a season high as well, with 8.60 million viewers and a 4.3 on the demo, while the best it did so far this season was 7.4 million and 3.5 on the demo. Benefiting from the boost was also Family Guy with a season high with 9.97 million viewers and 5.0 on the demo, for a very good episode. Finally the animation night ended with American Dad and 7.20 million viewers (3.7 on the demo), another season high of course.
On ABC, Desperate Housewives was up 600 000 viewers with 15.83 million viewers and 5.8 on the demo, while lead-out Brothers & Sisters was going down, down 400 000 viewers. With only 9.72 million viewers (3.4 on the demo) it was a season low for the show, going below 10 million for the first time.
Meanwhile on CBS a new Cold Case was also down with 400 000 viewers less, and 11.64 million viewers and 2.6 on the demo - a season low on the demo. That led out into a new The Unit, down 100 000 viewers from last week. The show went below 9 million viewers for the first time in a new season low at 8.97 million viewers (2.3 on the demo).
On The CW the results were as usual, catastrophic, but it’s because it was reruns of course. Otherwise, there’d be hundreds of viewers more, easy. I don’t even know why they would air reruns, but whatever, no one watches anyways so…
