Some Numbers…

Despite a disappointing start, Heroes kicked off its second season with solid numbers, and 14.12 million viewers. NBC new shows Chuck and Journeyman stared more modestly, with respectively 9.28 and 9.48 millions. Looks like despite my hate of it Chuck did a good start, as it even managed to build audience - while Journeyman actually lost viewers, which is totally unfair yet understandable. That’s how the show is.
Prison Break didn’t suffer from all this and kept in his 7.2 million viewers, which at least should ensure this season is the last. On the other hand, following show K-Ville might not even get one full season, seeing how after doing better than its lead-in (Prison Break) last week, and 9 millions viewers, it went down to 6.17 millions this week. So you and I saw the same show last week I guess.
Finally, the awesome How I Met Your Mother did 8.27 million, which isn’t so bad but not that good either. Come on people, watch it, it’s really worth it! The only sitcom that’s better than this one is called The Office, and it’s not on the same night, what’s your problem??

House is great, I knew it all along, and so did you. Season premieres of both Bones and House (18.13 millions) made Fox the number one network for the night. Cool.
Cane premiered, and CBS said it was their best series premiere in its timeslot in 8 years. Wow. Hopefully everyone came, saw, and went. Cause the show really isn’t that great. And I read that, while CBS might be saying the truth, Cane only did 11.12 millions where last year Smith, another bad show canceled after 3 episodes, had done 11 millions. So you know, we really can make numbers say anything you want them to say.
Reaper started and got 3.22 million viewers, which isn’t that bad - it’s even better than lead-in Beauty And The Geek, who only had 2.98 millions.

Bionic Woman did not do a start bad (in numbers that is), with 13.6 millions, but still Private Practice and its 14.4 millions did better. Obviously, with such shows against it, it was pretty hard for Gossip Girl not to go down. And so they did, to only 2.5 millions.
ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money did well with 10.4 million viewers, and if it can keep that up the show should be safe. I still haven’t watched it, is it good?
Shitty “sitcom” Back To You went down to 7.54 millions (about 20%), hopefully it’ll be canceled soon. Yeah, I know, I hate it when network do this, but really that show sucks.
Finally, NBC’s new drama Life, which I’ve yet to see but am quite excited about, did pretty much as good as Dirty Sexy Money. Better than that, it won its highly competitive time slot in the most wanted 18-49, scoring NBC’s highest rating in this timeslot since June 21, 2006 and improving on NBC’s premiere-week 18-49 rating in this slot by 46 percent compared to last season. Awesome, can’t wait to see what all that is about…
