Monday’s Numbers
By fred | May 13, 2008
Last night was a pretty good Monday night for Fox, going up and getting back it’s second place in total viewers, behind ABC, and first on the demo. Other than that, CBS are idiots but hopefully they’ll realize that now.
At 8.00 I’ll start by mentioning the 1.3 million more viewers who were watching Bones last night. That’s good, because it’s a really good show and deserves more recognition. I still haven’t watched this episode myself, but this is Bones, it’s good stuff, and the show was back to numbers like 9.4 million and a 3.2 on the demo.
Then we have the great sitcom CBS is trying to kill…
At least I assume that’s what they’re doing, cause it surely is what it looks like. Anyways, for its worst episode ever How I Met Your Mother had to do with Britney Spears again, only this time it’s wasn’t new already, and people cared a lot less. With 9.0 million viewers we do see an improvement over last week, 600 000 more viewers, but compared to two weeks ago it’s only 100 000 more. In other words, she didn’t help that much, and be sure that if they were stupid enough to bring her one more time, there might not even any bump at all !
Anyways, the show has been officially renewed so I should be glad I guess, but one time was enough, really. Moving on, lead-in The Big Bang Theory also did a little better with 300 000 more viewers, and an episode that was really good, and funny.
Meanwhile on The CW half a million more people tuned in to see Gossip Girl, getting good/average numbers for the show with 2.6 million viewers.
At 9.00 it’s no surprise to see the last half-hour of Dancing With The Stars be the most-watched program of the night (19.6 million, 4.7), but of course House performed very well, and was a clear winner on the demo (14.8 million, 5.8) ! And given how awesome this episode was, it only makes sense. Now I’ll have to find a way to wait one week to get the conclusion, second-part of this great season finale.
Samantha Who? did a little better than last week, holding 11 million people from its lead-in. On The CW and as often, One Tree Hill managed to grow a little from its lead-in and had 2.7 million viewers.
Oh yeah, meanwhile on NBC from 8.00 to 10.00 was the return of American Gladiators, with 4.9 million viewers and a 1.9 on the demo. Clearly not Deal Or No Deal numbers.
Finally at 10.00 CSI: Miami won he slot, while The Bachelor improved a lot for its season finale, going up to 9.2 million viewers from only 7.0 million last week. As a result, another season finale came last, Medium with 8.6 million viewers and a 2.9 on the demo, vs 3.3 for The Bachelor. We’re far from the 9.5 million viewers Medium usually got, but I’m sure while many fans weakly turned to ABC, they had their DVR busy at the same time…
