Monday’s Numbers [10.06.2008]
By fred | October 7, 2008
Another big Monday night last night, and the winner are the same. Dancing With The Stars remains the most-watched program of the night and makes ABC a winner in total viewers, just like Two And A Half Men wins the demo and makes CBS the winner there.
On to the real stuff now: both CBS sitcoms were up last night, The Big Bang Theory managing to get more viewers (9.33 million) than its lead-in How I Met Your Mother (8.96 million), though the later was stronger on the demo (4.0 vs 3.6) On NBC things are far from doing so well, Chuck continuing its way down and passing below 6 million viewers (5.89 million) and down to 2.2 on the demo (from 2.6 last week) — I’m sure NBC would like to reconsider their full season pickup now…
On Fox things aren’t really good, but there’s a little improvement for Sarah Connor and her friends, still. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was up 100 000 viewers and more importantly managed to beat Chuck on the demo (2.3 vs 2.2) Of course, remember that there was no new Gossip Girl last night…
At 9.00 Worst Week continues to fall, and while its lead-in was up with 13.94 million viewers, the sitcom only managed to keep 8.79 million of them in front of The Eye. Meanwhile on NBC, Heroes is also falling rapidly, not even getting 9 million viewers anymore (8.21 million), where last year there were close to 11 million. It also lost a lot on the demo (4.0 vs 4.5 one week ago), but that remains still way too strong for the show to be in trouble I’m sure.
Much like its lead-in, things were slightly up for Prison Break, gaining about 200 000 viewers and up to 2.2 on the demo.
Side note: a rerun of Privileged on The CW managed to get 1.54 million viewers and 0.8 on the demo. Sure, One Tree Hill does much better, but it also has a stronger lead-in. Also, last Tuesday a new episode of Privileged had 1.9 million viewers and 0.9 on the demo ! Maybe it’s not the show, maybe Tuesday with 90210 as lead-in isn’t a good fit, maybe there’s something to do here…
At 10.00 CSI: Miami was obviously the winner of the slot with 13.63 million viewers, down 700 000 viewers from last week. Boston Legal was also down, losing 400 000 viewers to 9.40 million. As for Life, there were 1.1 million less than last week (but 400 000 more than on Friday). This doesn’t look good. Worse is how Life fell down to the last place on the demo (2.3 vs 2.4 for Boston Legal).
